Hi Jay how about a shop update video? I don't remember you ever telling us about the machines you currently have. Thanks bud, keep up the good work.

Jason, did you end up buying a 5axis Haas in the end? I thought you had a different brand coming?

I bought a used 4th axis and I’m getting it set up currently. I’m just wondering is it worth getting the 5 axis table if you were to go all in? Can most of your work be done on a 4th?

I skipped 4th axis and went straight to 5 axis so I'm not the best person to ask but there is a guy that makes an indexable vise shelf that uses 5th axis vises so you can index around the axis your missing with just a 4th. That way you have 3+2 machining capabilities with just a 4th axis. To me that almost as good as 95% of the 5 axis work I do is really just 3+2 stuff

99% of all our work can be done with 3+2 .....might be worth looking into the "Moreside Fixture"

@@NerdlyCNC yes... Moreside... I should have probably googled the product name before I started rambling but that's the guy I was talking about, thanks nerdly!

Haas? What happened to the Okuma that you bought?

@@pcsmachineworks I asked him legitimately what happened to the Okuma on fb because I was really interested in the content and he blocked me…I thought after all the issues I thought he had with the VF2 he wasn’t going to buy another Haas. Not like it’s a big deal, but would love to know where the Okuma went.

The VM2 plus the TRT is a great combo for small business. Much more versatile and cost effective than the expensive Okuma 5-axis machine.

@@mtparker18 being a small machine shop owner myself i understand things can happen and have had a few machine tool builder flops of my own. Hopefully it's nothing too messy and maybe we'll hear about it sometime. I'm always interested in hearing the business insight of others. That said, having grown up in the RC world I've followed Jason for quite some time and only hope for the best.

@@pcsmachineworks I agree. I own my own plastic injection molding & cnc machining company, so I take other peoples reviews seriously because I like real-world people giving their honest opinion. He's been pretty open out the Tormach and Haas situations already, would love to hear if it was an issue with Okuma directly, or even something as small as "the machine just wasn't for me". Jason seems like an honest and good dude, so hopefully it wasn't anything that directly affected him or his business directly. I'll still continue to be a viewer and fan either way.
