I need to remove sterling flatware handles to scrap the silver. Is it better to use a scroll saw or a bandsaw? I would like to waste as little silver as possible but at the same time get the best, easiest, and fastest cuts. Which do you think would be better? And what blades should be used? Thanks. However, scroll saws do not appear to have a guide to allow for one-straight-cut down the off-centre of the knife handles.

Hey there, I’m sorry but I’m not sure honestly. You’re looking to cut the silver? I know they make metal cutting blades but I’m not sure how well they’d work for something like that.

are you using a foot pedal here to change the speed? If so, where can I purchase this? I did not think you could use variable speed foot pedals on a scroll saw? but you are clearly not removing your hands in the video...

I emailed back this morning but just seeing this comment. Short answer- no. I use the regular foot pedal. No variable speed.

So why did you drill very small holes in those “sharp” corners?
@KendrasGotWood
Жыл бұрын
You might just be referring to the marks the laser made when I scored my design on? I did drill a hole to feed the blade through. But in the corners is just where the laser changed direction

Not sure if you’ve answered this but am looking into the dewalt scroll saw at $400 I assume you have the Pegasus one here? Which I definitely can’t afford. Do you have any other recommendations? I just bought the Ryobi and it’s going back tomorrow lol it shakes like crazy!

I started with the Dewalt and it’s a good saw. It died on me after about three years. Definitely would be like day and night compared to the ryobi. If it’s still on sale for that price I’d go for it. I usually just recommend not paying full price because they have a reputation for dying around that three year mark with regular use.

Why is your blade speed so slow

Must just be the video because I pretty much always keep it on the highest speed.
