Very well spoken and you have given me a lot to think and pray about in terms of how I feel about this issue. Thank you for being so informative and passionate about your cause.

The United States is going to have to legalize polygamy before long. We have a large grop here of Muslims who practice plurality of wives in this and other Western countries. They just keep it quiet and call their wives cousins. Under current laws, their children by the additional wives are not fully legitimized, although no difference is made culturally any more of children born in or out of wedlock. Muslims are going to want their families publicly legitimized. I appreciate the comments made during this interview. When I studied plural marriage as part of my social studies final, I discovered that thanks to plural marriage, the LDS sisters were the most highly educated women in the world and had full opportunity to practice anything from law to medicine because the sister - wives were able to support each other. I also found out in conversations with LDS descendants of such families how horribly polygamist families were treated due to the laws imposed by the U.S. Government. Their suffering without the support and care of the husbands and fathers was extreme. People should realize that men were not allowed to have anything whatever to do with their extra families and could neither play with or hug their children nor support them on pain of being thrown in jail. We have been filled with anti-polygamy propaganda. It is NOT abuse of women. Never was. Men sadly DO abuse women and their children. That has NOTHING to do with plural marriage.

I think they are more likely to decriminalize polygamy than make it straight out legal. When it is part of a persons religious beliefs I dont see how we can deny them that practice as long as everyone involved is a consenting adult.

The sisters in the show Sister Wives did not appear to be happy. The husband seemed unable to satisfy all and keep the peace.

Interesting that fundamentalist claim priesthood authority that's seperate from the priesthood authority of the church. This is consistent with our beliefs. Where did Abraham get his priesthood authority? Where did Moses? And why up until a certain time in our history did the church have a general authority position of "Patriarch" that sort of operated independent of the prophet? This us consistent with priesthood structure outlined in the D&C. We've always believed that priesthood, in its true order, exists independently, particularly in a patriarchal pattern. (I've read some authors that believe the Patriarchal Priesthood to be a third priesthood. That I don't understand, but that's a different question) So the real question, I think, is not whether priesthood exists independently of the church, but whether a particular line of priesthood authority is legitimate, if someone holds the proper keys, and if a person is living worthy of it.

Where in the D&C is it detailed that the practice and use of the Priesthood is separate from the ultimate authority of the presiding Prophet and when has the priesthood ever made an appearance outside the Lord's organization, whatever that organization may have been at the time? It seems to me that fundamentalists are rationalizing their continued breaking of federal and State law with such an argument.

So much to unpack here. Why wouldn't the media touch this? I stumbled across these videos out of sheer boredom, now I'm too vested to stop, otherwise I wouldn't have even known about Utah nearly unanimously passing this bill that turned everything politics in Utah has said for years on its head. And the media won't touch it?? For an inquiring mind, many more questions need to be asked here.

They won't touch it because it threatens the homosexual agenda, as well as flies in the face of liberal women who will make claims that it's male oppression, female abuse, etc. (Meanwhile the trainwreck in the background with transgenderism, etc, rages on)

oh man you dont know how much I wish a community like this existed without all the abuse issues. I have always loved the idea of community living

I suspect community living will begin again as the world gets uglier and less tolerant of the righteous. Abuse will not be tolerated at that point. But when the righteous inherit the Earth during the millennium, the community will be global.

The Supreme Court mentioned this exact point when they allowed same sex marriage to continue. If love is love and consenting adults want to be married, then you open the ability for multiple partner marriages. If they become legal in the US I suspect the church will not participate. It would force the church to allow same sex and multiple partner unions that could include sexual sin.

Sad to think that if members had followed the Prophet so much of this could have been avoided. To argue that polygamy is an eternal principle and so its continuing practice is legitimate in face of opposing human law, is to overlook who is ultimately in control of this practice. The Lord often rescinds commands on the basis of mortal trends and refusals to comply with His principles. Certainly, the story of how the 10 Commandments came to Israel is just such a tale, and there are man

Yeah it created inbreeding that’s why most whites in Utah are cousins and uncles and nah when Hispanics take over y’all gotta chill and learn our culture because we’re becoming the majority and Christianity is going to die because white supremacy has to die in order for us to gain our land and our spirituality back from colonialism.
