@@mathieubrelu-brelu Same flip my first time for Judy v Panam, they nailed it with the flip friendship being still a huge payoff, to the point that Female V splits NC with her best friend AND her girlfriend. One's a reject/failure desperate in NC you help rise to lead her clan, the other you help recover from crippling loss, inspire all of her friends to take control of their lives in memoriam of her dead ex, and then help realize she needs to leave the city. You just swap relationship status.

Had to revisit the game the millisecond I learned that you could give Judy a happy ending (really, I chose Rogue over Panam to storm Arasaka and that was the difference), but your relationship with Judy is far deeper than with anyone else. You experience almost the whole gamut of emotions with her, and everything leading up to Pyramid Song feels so organic. The final scene in The Star ending drew a few actual tears out of me because of it.

This mission made me tear up. Not only is Judy welcoming V to her personal space, her childhood memory suspended in time under a dark watery depth - she's also welcoming V inside her mind, since they're synced via Braindance recording, and they could literally hear each other's thoughts. And the fact that when Judy's own memory echoed when she was briefly left alone, when she said to Evelyne and V "I'm looking at two dead bodies," and considering at this point Evelyne had committed suicide, and V was on borrowed time, makes me think that Judy dived with V despite not knowing her that long, because she wanted to open up to someone, to have someone who truly understand her, and to have that BD with V's emotions echoing her own. Because she didn't get the chance to do it with Evelyne. Also, saw this comment somewhere about CP2077's romance partners: "Panam has her clan. River has his family. Kerry has his business. Judy only has you."

I began to play this game a few weeks ago. The game was fun, with nice mechanics, and graphics, you can tell the game was well made (besides the amount of bugs that had at launch). But suddenly, after helping Judy on a couple of quests, you begin to know the character a little bit, just like in any other RPG. And suddenly I got to this quest. This quest was an art piece, and somehow, you really begin to care about this character like you'd never being care about any other videogame character before. This quest and this character deeply touched me, and I'm thankful for that. You can tell the devs, the writers, the artists, and the voice actress, really put their hearts into the progression of Judy and this quest in particular (Pyramid Song).

Judy and V, two desperate souls about to crack under pressure in the nightmare that is Night City, yet able to steal a moment of tranquility and tenderness amid the bones of a dead village; the greatest heist in the game.

Coming back here after beating the DLC while V is female breaks my heart. We lost Judy probably forever, everything we went through with her, after she was so dedicated to us and shared her deepest secrets that not even her best friend (Evelyn) she had shared. I understand, it was two years but... I don't know, I simply don't accept that fact, she didn't even try to look for us, she just sent a message and called us. I particularly didn't like that ending, I would have liked to have woken up in the hospital with Judy waiting for us but it didn't happen...In the end, there was the feeling that everything was in vain, and this relationship that in the beginning was our dream ended up being our worst nightmare, nothing was worth it. I would rather be without V's cure and die happy next to the people we love.

I also feel like Female V is canon, Panam is nice but she has to much going on to also worry about V, and the nomad ending is what I hope to be canon, getting to leave with a new family, and bringing Judy with you, taking her into your new family. If there's any group who can figure out the 6 month dilemma its the nomads. Misty's Tarot reading hints as much. Judy best girl, Nomad ending best ending.

@@rinzzler366 I think the Nomad ending is the best for a nomad. Playing as a Streetkid, this ending feels a bit less fitting, though it still real. And the Temperance ending is the most heartbreaking. I also agree with what I read in the comments of other people - any of the endings in the game are very well described, so you will believe in it without strong doubts. Even the worst suicide ending, if you think about it, is very real in the situation of the protagonist. P.S. Speaking of tarot cards, you made a good point, as most people say that V has no chance of surviving. But all Misty's predictions in the game came true.

Although I enjoyed Panam's questline more and connected with Panam's personality more, - she is exactly my type of sassy, playful and caring - Judy's story hit heavier. She struggles with the same issues many of us, including me, struggle with. Living life in phases, not knowing if you're ever going to find that final, fulfilling phase that's worth staying in. End- and aimlessly wandering, escaping to the next big phase to keep you occupied. Doing and taking on anything to escape that dreaded feeling of purposelessness.. Ending up in your personal Night City, trying to work through your friends leaving in one way or another, struggling with the relationships you've built.. Are they worth it? Will they last? Are they really my friends? Until you meet that one person - V for Judy - that through some lengths, teaches you to cherish the moments, to not hold on to painful memories, to make the important decisions, to not give in to the pressure you've put yourself under. Many of us are still waiting for that one friend, I think. Many of us are longing for a way to escape their aimless wandering and wondering, their phases, their Night Citys. Don't give up. Your day will come.

Isn't "Your day will come" exactly what you said in the first half? It is WAITING for your big day to come. Struggling through phases to get into the one where all things become as clear as sky to you. I don't reckon life works this way. First of all, you must accept lack of purpose. From childhood we've been taught to live according to the "life schedule" and we always had someone to report our accomplishment to (responsibility, basically). I think this is what makes us seek purpose. Once you accept purposelessness, stop "reporting" to others. Don't give a fudge. You have freedom and a lot of time to find something interesting in the world while you're here.

Something about the instrumentation of the Pyramid Song motiff in these just tugs at the heart strings. Its conveys the complexity of the moment Judy is in. Revisiting a painful time in her life, being bullied, not understanding her sexuality, confusion with religion, recently losing her parents. Despite this, in the moment, she both feels bliss in sharing this moment with someone she is falling for (or close to, sorry male V) but also there is a level of bitterness to everything, as she strikes flares and wades through her memories amid the sunken town she knew. Painful memories mixed in with fond ones, all better than now and all crushed under water put there by the very entities (corpos) that make her life struggling now. Everything revolving around Judy is a masterpiece (besides post romance since execs forced this game out early). Her character design being so incredibly mindful with her tattoos (note her forearm quote), her music, her voice acting, her arc. She started out wanting to blend into the city, just simply be in the background, then her best friend of several years comes upon her after a recent messy breakup in a long term relationship, and she brings this stupid merc who has trouble written all over her. This merc continually seems cordial and friendly, but she doesn't buy it. When everything goes to shit, and her best friend Evelyn just vanishes, this merc comes around, and very quickly thrusts Judy out of her mundane and quiet existence and shows her what a taste of freedom is, a taste of fighting for what you want and believe in, and refusing to simply give in to the crushing depression that Night City pushes on everyone. Judy was believably the hero of her story in her own right. She had a call to action, that lead to a setback thrusting her into a massive position. She plans and spearheads an operation against a massive powerful gang to help her friends, is forced to confront feelings of her ex, and another betrayal by her, and then through this confrontation, realizes the thing she needs more than anything, is this snarky merc who makes her yearn for freedom and escape. Seriously god damn do I hate the CDPR execs and PR for rushing this game. I would wait until 2030 if it meant I could experience the product these devs and writers dreamed they could deliver.

Even though I played as a Male V, this scene really made me feel like Judy is a really good friend, even though she is not romancable. @jeremygray2906

I also played as a Male V, but I think a big part of the reason Judy is so idolized, is because she is a very rich character. Full of life, interaction and emotion, regardless of gender orientation. She is probably the most alive character I have ever encountered in all my years of gaming. This is a true testament to the ability of CDPR to create digital life and infuse our gameplay with fruitful and emotional memories. Spoiler Alert Don't get me wrong, I love Panam as a character almost as much as Judy, but after her quest line she's just another NPC, Judy still sends photos and texts and they did a really good job of making her seem real.

I think it's generally a shame that most Romances are gender-locked when there is so few . I played as Female V but didn't romance Judy because i had the feeling she was still clinging too much to the memory of Evelyn . I romanced River instead , but didn't feel overly attracted to the character as he is the one of four romances that is the most rushed since he's a rather " late game " encounter , depending on how soon you tackle certain Side Jobs . And even if you encounter him sooner , his romance seems to come out of nowhere . On the other hand , i would've loved to romance Kerry as a female , even though it's made pretty obvious from the start that he's into guys . Imho they missed a big opportunity with Takemura , since he's a character whose relationship with V evolves a lot through the Main quests . Also , it would've added a romanceable character with a Corpo background , which i feel is lacking from the game . Doesn't strike me as being into guys or both , but for a female V he would've been an interesting romance choice . Another Corpo for both Male V and Female V that could use a proper romance instead of a half arsed fling is Meredith . Plus i believe it was originally planned , because they put simultaneously a lot of efforts into that fling , as well as not enough , which smells of cut-content and last minute decisions to focus on other things .
@SlowWalkthroughs
3 жыл бұрын
@@Tomcat_Coyote I agree with you here. I think it's important to have gender-locked characters for representation, but I wish there were at least a few other options with more fluidity. I played fem V too, and I ended up being most attracted to Panam and Kerry, which is just unlucky I guess. I think also Kerry is bisexual in the original Cyberpunk, so it's a strange decision by cdpr, but again the representation is great. And a Takemura romance would have been by far the most compelling. I agree that it's a huge missed opportunity, even if it ended in tragedy, it would still have made for such an engaging story. I do understand that it's a lot of extra work introducing more romance options, or even creating bi characters from the pre existing options, and cdpr already had their hands full. It just feels a little underwhelming being restricted to just 2 people, especially in a cyberpunk future.

I just finished this arc with Judy last night. I went with a male V and this whole aspect to Judy's story absolutely emotionally devastated me. You could feel the love she felt for you even if it wasn't romantic in the end. I am still getting through the game so no spoilers about the ending. The music hit me so damn hard. It is dreamlike, introspective and pensive. It reminded me of many nights being alone with my thoughts thinking of past loves and the memories of my father who passed away when I was 21. During the height of the pandemic the isolation was crushing and so lonely. This music was so appropriate for me trying to navigate the long, sleepless nights thinking of my life and the choices and mistakes I have made over the years and how in the end their is always a glimmer of hope (like seeing the sun shining and shimmering on the lake's surface). CDPR has some amazing musicians and composers for their games. I still cry every time I hear Priscilla's song from Witcher 3. I am glad to read other players feel the same way. Thanks for reading!

There are many people like Judy out there, people like Jackie, Panam, V, all are written so well and believable. The game puts you in so much action then hits you with sad yet calming pauses, like the mission with Skye, and then this. So powerful narrative.

As I recall, for the 1st time this music plays while V is sitting on the roof with Judy and she's smoking and talking bout what happend to Evelyn vs Woodman etc. That was touching and track fit perfectly. OST of the game is a masterpiece (sure there are things to take care of by producers but still) just like the game itself. Lotta emotions. After playing to the very end of the game I was a damn emotional wreck. I've been thru all endings. The best ofc in my opinion, is ending with Aldecaldo esceping. Brings hope for the future and damn peeps, you got Panam and Judy by your side and great family and friends in Aldecaldos :DD hope to see DLC in the future

Judy is such a wonderful character there is so much mystery about her it is tantalizing, I just got done doing pyramid song for the first time after going through the main story arc with panam and the aldecaldos and that side quest was so surreal swimming through her childhood home of laguna bend reminded me of the small California town where I'm from which is Loomis California. Having to say goodbye to her was hard, but then getting the texts from her was all the much better see her thriving outside of Night City.

Hi! I just wanted to say thank you so much for 1k. I didn’t really expect to hit it so soon, and I haven’t planned anything exciting, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t an exciting moment for me. It was over a day ago now and I’m still ecstatic. If you’re here and reading this now, I want to thank you directly for supporting the channel. So, thank you! I also wanted to say that I am still working through all of your requests. I think I’ve replied to every suggestion so far, and I have written them all down, but sometimes they get mixed up in my own ideas or just lost in general. If you’ve requested a video and it looks like I’ve forgotten, please feel free to remind me at any time! Some of your suggestions so far have been some of my favourite videos to make, and I always appreciate new requests! So please do let me know. This time last month the channel had 60 subscribers. God this music is.... This gives me a feeling of dread and calm at the same time. I don't know why. Maybe it's the fact that it plays as I explore an underwater town, remnants of a once vibrant community. Seeing the town's ashes in Laguna bend was a creepy and surreal experience. CDPR always knows how to craft a story.

For more layers, the song is Pyramid Song, a song by Motorhead with the lyrics "I jumped in the river and what did I see? Black-eyed angels swam with me A moon full of stars and astral cars All the things I used to see All my lovers were there with me All my past and futures And we all went to heaven in a little row boat There was nothing to fear and nothing to doubt" They somehow crafted these lyrics so deeply into her character, its incredible. As she dives down with (presumably female for romance) V, she sees around her, the remnants of her past, the places she used to see all the time, a time she sees fondly because of its simplicity and how bad things are now, but at the same time, there is some bittersweet to it as a lot of the memories are not good. Her being rejected by a girl as Judy struggled with sexuality, Judy being made fun of for not having parents and being poor, her guilt of being gay and distance from religion. All painful, but yet still better than things in Night City. Despite this, she is there with someone she loves, who is experiencing this with her, and she sees the future in that, freedom from corpos and emotional availability with V. This was her day with V, no noise, no distractions, just them, together. That is their heaven in a row boat, with nothing to fear and nothing to doubt. Also pair this with her forearm tattoo "underwater where thoughts can breathe easy". This may be one of the best well written love interests in all of videos games. Easily the best I've ever personally seen

Played as a dude for my first and only playthrough and sitting there next to her as she said goodbye...it felt real. Like someone I loved in real life just said goodbye. Walking down the road to my truck, I just felt...so alone. I wanted her to stay but I also didn’t. She was right in leaving and I knew it, but that still didn’t make the pain go away, Panam hates me for saving her life. The clan had moved on, leaving me in the dust and filth in Night City. Even more, I chose peace with arasaka, after unknowingly killing Johnny, who was my last “living” friend. And I killed him I was so focused on getting the chip out so I don’t die. Get it out. Before my brain collapses. But in that panicked urgency I didn’t notice that once they got it out, he’d be gone too. They killed him But I was the one who said ok I killed him. As I lay in bed and did the tests, that’s all I could think about. All the people who’re dead now because they’ve had the misfortune of knowing me. And on top of all that, I gave the most evil “people” in the world, unlimited power, immortality. I have cancer now. Six months. Cancer. Everything and everyone Doomed For me to live A life cut short A waste of life I died knowing I’ve killed everyone and everything I’ve ever loved. Except Judy, not Judy. She saw it all. And she left it behind. She left...me And that choice saved her life. I wonder if she’ll remember me. Her friend A hurricane of death and suffering Who had the best of intentions but shot it all down. Well, i guess it’s time to go. Judy, I want you to know, that in the darkness that we met, you were my light. I loved you I still do Farewell Judy, live the life that I couldn’t. Be free. -V

The story around Laguna Bend is nothing out of reality. I want to share with you a similarly sad story about an Italian dam built around shady politics: the Vajont dam. The project started in 1920 and was meant to be the "world's tallest dam" but was only approved in 1943 and was built between 1957 and 1960. Many lands were snitched by farmers, not without years of protests that eventually didn't change anything. People were scared, they felt something was wrong but their voices were never heard and were instead suppressed by media and post-fascist propaganda. One day in 1963 a landslide caused a tsunami in the lake. Milions of cubic meters of water flooded the valleys below, many towns were erased and thousands people lost their lives. This tragedy could've been avoided with proper security measures but the greedy far right economy didn't care about safety at all, all they cared was money. There are many more examples of how corporations brought misery and destruction, instead of proud and prosperity they usually promise. The only thing we can do when tragedies like this happen is to not forget. We shall never forget.

BTW in my opinion Judy (and Panam) is among one of best-written characters in video games. Some may argue that they don't have their sh#t together, but... who does? Just like in real life. Judy is sick of NC bu she won't leave (at least not right now, before the very very specific ending), she keeps changing dates because as sh%tty as it is, NC is also everything she ever knows. Panam, on the second hand, is very emotional and full of passion, not always in a good way. They feel just "real" on some level. I wish we could do some side activities after official romance 'end' or maybe something so simple as grabbing a coffee and riding home together from time to time. Or just send some SMS/MMS sometimes, maybe answer a few random calls.
@casseith

@doomslayer420 even the Panam one if we call her (Judy) first on the balcony before approaching Arasaka Tower and then we meet Judy with Panam and Aldecados, just before we leave NC? I know that if we do the same with Kerry, he stays, but it's just his way. The same goes for opposite, like Judy in Afterlife Legend ending (she wants to see life outside NC while we stay there) and I don't know about River but he didn't seem to keen on leaving NC behind. So Panam and Judy want to leave, Kerry and River stay and I think that's it. I know for sure that Judy appeared at last meeting with Aldecados and I think (it's been a while since I got this ending as my first) she crossed the border with us, I mean in the car with V.

There are so many paralells between Judy and the nomad version of V...both alone in Night City from the beginning despite making friends there it didn't last for either of them sadly and they eventually both ended up alone again, both found that their closest friend died first Jackie and Evelyn leaving them both alone once again. Doesn't matter if you play male or female V the way Judy and V connect is genuine regardless...best ending possible is Judy leaving Night City in the end she seems truly happy with this decision.

While I feel all the characters were rushed, more time and care was definitely taken when creating Judy compared to the other characters. There was way more interaction with her than the others. From choosing what you wanted on your pizza or how you wanted your coffee, to her email interactions with other NPCs, to a whole mission dedicated to part of her back story. It's almost like your time with Judy as male or female V could be second main plot. Like should have been your companion after Jackie. With the others, you got maybe 2 or 3 missions together, 2 or 3 text messages, and that's it. You didn't really get too much below the surface. You even get more interaction with Judy than Panam in the Crystal Palace ending. I feel River was the most rushed out of the characters you form a relationship with. Of course after their timeline is finished, that was it. Judy just stands at the window and Panam just sits there and plays with her phone. The cat in your apartment is more dynamic. These characters are a big part of your journey and it's like they were just dropped until the final mission. Act 1 to the middle of Act 2 was awesome. After that, you can clearly see where the devs ran out of time. Didn't they say the flathead was originally supposed to be something that can be used multiple times? Judy dabbles in robotics. I guess that was more cut content.
@jetstreamsam6176

Completely agree that it feels like the characters fall flat after their respective quest lines, your chosen romance partner is never mentioned in any dialog, like in Rivers quest where everyone asks if you would make a good couple with him if you are playing as female v and you can answer “yes i think we would!” even after you romance Judy and say you want to be with her, if the player wants to romance River as-well then thats great! But if the player just wants to romance Judy then a dialog option would be nice saying like “Oh, I’m already seeing someone” or something like that lol, another thing that would be nice is being able to do stuff with your chosen romance character like taking them on a date, giving them gifts or changing what outfit they are wearing just something that adds a bit more life into the romance part of the game.
