This is probably the best video/review I've seen about Cyberpunk 2077 to this day, I'll go even further and say it's the closest to my own thoughts about it. You just described everything I love about it and how I felt (still feel) after playing and finishing it multiple times. And while it's often just a support for a game or to add to the ambiance, but I consider the sound and music in Cyberpunk 2077 to be fully part of the world and immersion, more over and being a metalhead since I was a teenager it's the first time I feel a game truly understands what diverse music taste look like with the multiple radio stations covering almost all music genre going from metal to rock, pop to electro, rap to nighclub, ... etc

I’m one of the few people who liked cyberpunk day 1. I was there defending it like crazy because I fell in love with the game. The game released at a time in my life where I down and just tired of life. I didn’t believe I had meaning or mattered. But when I played and beat cyberpunk and (mistakenly) gotten the suicide ending, it completely changed my life. I began to understand myself and the value I have in the world. How much I mattered to the people around me and the value of appreciating the little things. It gave me a new lease on life that I needed. Idk if my outlook on the game would’ve been different if I wasn’t in that headspace around that time but I thank CDPR. It makes me super happy seeing the turn around on this game and more people giving it a shot. CDPR did deserve the chewing out they got, I’m just super happy they didn’t give up on the game and worked to improve it

I also enjoyed it shortly after release, didn't encounter that many bugs but flawed features were sort of annoying me especially when those things were that easy to fix. But I installed a better vehicle driving mod, better driving minimap mod, some crafting fixes and maybe some other small fixes and it was much better. Those things didn't ruin the game for me since it had a lot of very strong sides that those little things couldn't have ruined it for me. But the fact that those things were so easy to fix were bothering me, the fact that modders fixed it day one made it weird that CDPR released it like that. It's good that you don't need those mods anymore and that more people can enjoy the game now, for some those things might have ruined the experience. I'm glad that people can enjoy it now like I did, it was a shame that some people gave up on the game and missed out.

Even Keanu Reeves grew on me as Johnny. I was surprised by how much he was in the game. Expected a glorified cameo but hes in most side quests chatting with you as well. Totally agree about Keanu. I was annoyed about how big a deal people were making his inclusion out to be at the time. I didn't give a shit about some big Hollywood actor being in the game and just thought the game wouldn't have taken so long to come out if they didn't feel the need to cast him. After playing the game though, I'm really glad he was in the game. Keanu as Johnny is probably my favorite role of his ever. I got so attached to Johnny as the game went on and thought he was an amazing character. He gave an amazing performance and I was really glad they proved me wrong.

@@januszkurahenowski2860thing is silver hand has a lesser role in the original script, the reason why he appears everywhere even as you’re walking down the street is because Keanu push CDPR to make Jonny a bigger role, hell Keanu wasn’t even going to be in the game, the executives wanted a big Hollywood star to secure sales and the team pretty much had to scrapped a lot of content because of it, the game was literally remade in 2 years, that’s why there’s a lot of glitches and missing features, now they announce a sequel and I hope this time they truly take their 5 to 7 years to polish and include everything that was left out in this game. I remember when I was downloading on the game on GOG the day it came out as I was watching the whole of Twitch and KZitem playing the game. Moistcritical, Jacksepticeye, Pewdiepie, xQc, and many others playing it. It was like I was playing the dream, the most anticipated thing in any medium since Harry Potter was in my freaking hands. I was floored, what a feeling it was. Breathtaking. I caved in my room and played it for four straight days, cried my eyes out, then went online to see some people shitting on it. I was like wtf is going on. The game worked for me with minor bugs that you usually would find in any major and minor video game. I was fortunate. Then saw people asking CDPR to bring Jackie back for some reason. I was wondering if I misunderstood the game. Never was familiar with the cyberpunk genre beforehand, but I totally realized that NC would win, and win hard, no matter what. Jackie's death was a cautionary tale. But people still demanded the montage to be playable with Jackie. I missed him, like everyone, which was the goal of his intro, but he drew his fate from the very minute he introduced you to Dex and T-Bug. And I ended up drinking to Johnny Silverhand at the end of the game instead. Characters were unreal... I mean, believable.. You know what I mean. Then the Edgerunners anime came out and I saw everyone echoing Silverhand's words, "A happy ending, in this city, for people like us? Wrong city." I'm glad the game came back to the spotlight now. An amazing journey that I still remember two years later. Time for a replay this Christmas before Phantom Liberty comes along.

This is a really impressive video. Most KZitemrs would just record a generic narration and fill the screen with random gameplay clips. You took the time to record countless cinematic shots of Night City and immersive "noHUD" gameplay sections. You also made professional montages that capture the essence of the game. I think I am qualified more than most people to say "amazing job". I wish more gaming creators were ambitious with their videos and took their time to make them feel cinematic, like you did with this video. About the game itself: Cyberpunk started as a complete mess. At launch it was buggy, unfinished and lacking features that were advertised. I even made a video back then to mock the game by confronting it with devs' promises. A few months ago I gave Cyberpunk a second chance. I installed the newest updates, got a few PC mods to enhance the experience and played through the game on my new PC in 4K. And I have to say, I was very pleasantly surprised. I now think Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the greatest open-world games I've ever seen. It still has a few technical quirks (for example I wish that draw distance was better and the traffic was smoother) but it's extremely immersive and well-made overall. The city is absolutely beautiful, the story is very strong, the supporting characters are very interesting, the combat is fun as hell, driving is suprisingly good (althrough it requires getting used to) and the attention to details is insane. Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most immersive gaming experiences I've ever had. It just requires a certain level of dedication from the player to fully appreciate it. In my humble opinion, this game shines when you take it seriously and try to role play as V. When you follow the traffic rules, walk through the city instead of running and approach combat scenarios slowly, this game feels like a movie. A lot of this beauty is lost when you blast through the game like it's GTA. If you drive like a maniac everywhere and never take the time to stop and look around, the game loses a lot of its charm. So my advice is this: play this game slowly and take your time. Don't rush through it because you will do yourself a big disservice. Instead, try to role play as V, take the game seriously and even put some extra restrictions on yourself for a bigger challenge (for example try to complete "theft missions" without harming anyone of ever being spotted).

You realize that the devs don't chose when their game is released right, like no one would spend 5 years of his life working 10 hours a day on a game, create such an amazing world, just to end up releasing it too early and ruining the game's reputation forever. Nowadays AAA studios are completely run by shareholders, the devs themselves don't have any say in when their game is released, and people at the top wanted the game to release before Christmas thinking they would make a ton of money so it did, even tho it needed one more year of development and to be released only on next gen. I agree with you it's really sad, i absolutely loved this game and it's really depressing seeing it being treated so badly by everyone, but it's not the devs who chosed to release their game in this state

The BEST thing GTA ever did for their online setup was the Dr. Dre missions. I even tried to play GTA the other day (because I updated it for the Series X and haven't played in about a year) and I honestly was like "How come the characters don't move as fast as Cyberpunk?" lol. If you went from Cyberpunk to GTA, you would think GTA has some slow characters, lol. Anyways, I am on my fourth playthrough of Cyberpunk now and one thing that I love is that each time, there is something different. It could be the choices that you make or something that you missed, etc. Every time I have played it, there is something different, and I love that. I feel you for the endings. People say that the Aldecaldo ending is the best, but personally I felt the pain of having Bob, Ted, and Saul die for V. That's why I love the Don't Fear The Reaper ending. You don't lose anyone who trusts you. Great perspective of the game BTW. I think what some people seem to forget is how many different playstyles there are when it comes to defeating goons.

This is by far the best review I have seen of all the positives this game has and is overshadowed by issues many had at release. You have brilliantly described the word of Night City and its inhabitants with such care and faithfulness to what they are. Thank you for that. It's rare to find one that is willing and able to show to love that was put into this game from Mike Pondsmith all the way to the designers of 2077. As one who has at current 1167 hours (man that's crazy) into this game and my next highest is 43 hours I find myself constantly finding something new in the game still, and it's amazing.

Wow! This is one of the best and most positive reviews of this game I have seen. Seems you followed some of the same journeys and got the same feelings that I have in my play throughs of this game and I too found that the secret ending is my favorite. I have played through with every life path, male and femaile and each ending. I have found that the Nomad life path with the femail V and the secret ending is my favorte and have played it several times. I have played the game since it's release and have over 1600 hours in it and it just keeps getting better. I look forward to each patch that comes up and can't wait for the expansion which I expect it to make it even better. I have started play throughs of other games and keep coming back to this one before finishing the other game. I guess I am addicted to the way that Cyberpunk has grabbed me and I can't find the same the feeling in any other games.

You brought it to rhe point. Cyberpunk for me is an expierence. You cannot describe it in its fullest, but it is so easy to emerge yourself in a 70-80hour run and still miss so much about the city, or find new things returning as a (new) V, going through every possibility. It's rare that a videogame pulls me in it like that. I will defend that game with everything I have. It made me love, hate, cry, cheer and so much more for everyone I meet in that virtual world. The music is so well thought through and always fits to the situation one might find themselves in and I always enjoy a good Samurai track when it comes up on my playlist

Well thought out and brilliantly presented. Cyberpunk is one of my favoutites too, it and Path of Exile are the main games I have played over the last two years. I keeping finding myself trying "just one more build", probably over 30 by now with at least 8 complete playthroughs and all the endings.

I played this game after i had one of the biggest L's in my life happen. In a time when i was going down in a rut and was always with a negative mindset, this game's narrative helped me from spiraling even worse and actually kept me level-headed. It helped me be content with the fact that life is never fair, but that doesnt mean i have to be a resentful d***head lol. Like the lyrics go in 'Never Fade Away,' this game "lit a flame that consumed my hate." I can say with confidence this is definitely one of my favorite single-player games ever, maybe even games of all time IMO

I was obsessed with the game when I first started playing it. I put in countless hours just looking around, reading shards, taking in the atmosphere, just driving everywhere until I actually memorized the streets. I just felt so invested in stories of V, Johnny, Panam, Judy, River and Kerry. I think this had some of the best “companion” content I’ve seen in a game.

But damn, despite the glitches (thankfully never encountered any game breaking ones) I just wanted to go back instantly when it was over. Great video 👍this is the what I've been looking for since I've finished the game myself a few weeks ago. While there are some cool essays and explorations of the game out there, a LOT of them can be overly long and tangential, and the discourse focuses majorly on the technical launch of the game and what the game isn't rather than the game itself. What you've made is very concise but still hits all the aspects on why the game is so impressive and moving. Thank you for making this.
