Cycling again on the Eurovelo 6 after the amazing summer months on the Eurovelo 8, makes me never want to do this trail again😣. While planning the odyssey I was thinking about doing the entire EV6, but now I am happy I didn't. I find it rather boring and unspectacular 🫠. Would you recommend any section in particular (the Danube starts in Germany, so I cannot say about that part, but somehow I have low expectation)?

As a romanian i can tell you this: road cycling in Romania is very dangerous because there is no bike culture here, there is 0 infrastructure, 0 bike lanes, and the drivers have little to no respect for cyclists. Me and my friends stick to mountain biking (the landscapes here are absolutely superb, the MTB trails are amazing) . There are many of us (me included) that also practice road cycling, (we know the area and know to pick less busy roads etc) but the agresivity of the drivers combined with the total lack of bike lanes, make road cycling a truly stressful experience here.

I can imagine mountain biking in Romania must be awesome! I could notice in some areas where I biked, if it was a smaller road, it was actually better, but if you do not know which way to take, than it is a bit disastrous

haha, I think the worst road experience on the whole tour is in the next episode as I was biking into Timisoara in Romania during rush hour, and a part of me died there 😬😆, except for the trucks in Svilengrad it was not that bad in Bulgaria actually 🤔

21:15 I don't know if you realized it, but the gathering that forced you off the road was a funeral procession. Anyway, I hope you had more fun on the next Bulgarian segment. The most spectacular biking in Bulgaria is in the mountains, but you crossed them by train. :)

Oh, actually I did not realize it, I saw the wreath, but the group seemed jolly - at least while shortly passing by 😟. I really was looking forward to crossing the mountains, the original plan was also to bike over to Sofia and spend more time in Bulgaria, but latest this year I come back to climb Mt Musala, then I hope I have more time to see more.
