You should do a new video. Cyclops updated the lights so you no longer need to cram all the stuff into the sides. They made the caps bigger. The install is much easier overall. You should also, you know, zoom in on the process. It is pretty easy, but a little more visual detail would be better.

Update; it's been several months since I installed the Cyclops kit and so far I'm loving it. I feel much safer riding in traffic during daytime and at night. The installation was pretty easy. Highly recommended!! Worth every penny.

BMW F800GS Adventure 2015: I just installed the high and low bulbs. A bit of fiddling with the low beam driver in order to get it to fit but after a couple minutes all went in well...tight fit but it's in. When the handle bar is turned all the way to the right the left fork ever so slightly pushes on the high beam cap/housing. Doesn't seem to be an issue. I may see if I can adjust the front assembly forward to eliminate this matter. I'll have to figure out how to do this. Say I were to crash in sand and the handle bars got slammed right it could in theory pop the high beam cap off or damage the cap but not likely. It's currently day time so I haven't had a chance to evaluate the brightness at night. I will test tonight and post an update. Thank you David!

Loosen the two bolts that hold the headlight assembly , slide assembly forward, that should solve the contact issue. because the caps are flexible they will move if the tube touches them.

Is stock lighting really that bad and insufficient that additional installation or replacement is required? Wont your new lights blind drivers of opposite direction line?

Another question how the ventilation happening if everything is already sealed? The fan won't get any fresh air

The fan blows air around the inside of the housing. That provides enough thermal relief that there is no need for external venting.

You sound like Hershel from The Walking Dead series! Thanks - great video - makes it all so clear (excuse the pun)! Do you happen to know what the current draw of this setup is, compared to stock? PS If you reply to comments and questions directly, by hitting the "reply" button under it, that user will be notified that you have responded. When you respond by creating a NEW comment they have no idea that you have in fact responded to them unless they come back and take a look by scrolling down the list. See my reply to Philip B below. Oh and one last thing, my kit came with the wires already fed through the replacement cap on the high-beam assembly saving a bunch of time. UPDATE: I timed the installation on my 2013 800GS. From walking up to the bike to turning it on for test - 7 minutes! Fitting these is a breeze. Took it for test ride and wow what a difference! The low beam is more of a defined "block" of light that is both brighter and whiter. And the high-beam is amazing - punches a powerful far reaching beam that I would estimate is three times longer than stock. I had the bike on the main stand pointing up the road and checked before and after. Then I went for a ride to get a more subjective feel. Worth every penny - a must-have safety upgrade.

A stock halogen bulb is 55 watts. That equates to about 4.5 amps. A Cyclops bulb is 30 watts. That equates to about 2.5 amps.

When I made that video I was happily selling Cyclops bulbs. Today I'm not (because I'm retiring) and I have no official connection with them, so my comments are without any agenda... I have nothing but good things to say about Cyclops bulbs and the people who run the business. Every interaction I've ever had with them over the years was positive, and the bulbs were the best ones on the market. I don't know exactly why your bulb didn't work out for you. Yes, Cyclops has a 1-year warranty, and good reasons: Bulbs on motorcycles usually don't last very long due to vibration and other factors, especially if the bulb you select is a high-performance version like those sold by Cyclops. (stock bulbs last for years because they're performing at minimum output). There's a trade-off between performance and longevity. That being said, I've had Cyclops bulbs in my dirt bikes for over 5 years and they're still going strong.

No you can't, sorry. Cyclops restricts the sale of the housing because some customers were buying the housing just so they could install cheap Chinese LED lights.

It would've been nice to shoot more video from the riders perspective, but frankly we ran out of time. Also the camera has difficulty showing the reflected light as seen from a riders perspective. Some things just don't translate well on film. The film does show the lights from an oncoming vehicle perspective. If that's silly that's ok. As far as your other conclusions about Cyclops brightness and suitability, I simply don't agree. Nor do my friends and customers who use them.

Yes the stock lighting system really is pretty bad. It's the equivalent of your car having one side of the headlights covered.

You guys need to show a video at night from the riders position.Not that ridiculous video seeing the bike coming towards us flashing it's lights.... People need to know these lights are VERY bright up close for the first maybe 30-50' like in your demo on the garage door...but after that the lights do not project very far (this is pretty common concerning LED lights in halogen housings without projectors) I've tested these and Opt7 lights which are brighter than cyclops and it's pretty much the same conclusion. Not enough light projected in the distance. And for motorcycling, this is just not good enough for people who don't have any other type of aux lights.. I have low beam HIDs and they project much further, but are less bright than the cyclops. I decided to keep the HID and super bright halogen for the high beam and this is the brightest setup ( not including my aux LEDS spots) You guys have a nice product, but these lights are not adequate for an 800gs that doesn't have any other aux lights avail.
@TheDesertsweeper
6 жыл бұрын
I think maybe you have faulty product. I just fitted these identical lights on my F800 testing it before and after. The difference on low-beam is not going to blow you away but it most certainly is brighter and "whiter". The coverage is similar but has more defined edges where the stock lamp fades into black progressively. But the high-beam is like night and day - literally. I walked up the road with the stock lamp and drew a chalk-mark where I figured it was no longer "acceptable" and then did the same thing with the cyclops - and had to walk just short of three-times that distance. So there is something wrong with your bulbs...

There's no proper beam pattern or cut-off on low beam, it's just a bright scatter of light. Surely it annoys other drivers?
@bestrestproducts648
7 жыл бұрын
I don't know where you're getting that information... YES there is a beam pattern. High beam is full and bright, low beam has a cut-off pattern which you can see when you're riding. That cut-off is a function of the reflectors inside your headlight housing. Because the bulb is so much brighter than stock, the amount of light coming off the headlight tends to cause the camera lens to show it as one bright blob. As far as annoying other drivers, nobody's complained, nobody's flashed their headlights at me when I'm running on low beam. Annoying other drivers is the least of my worries.... I just want to see down the road, and I want the other drivers to see ME.
@TheDesertsweeper

CDI - I don't know why you would say that. Perhaps the way we showed the pattern on the wall wasn't a good representation, but on the road the pattern is well defined.
