During the rebuild of our antique (1960) 901 Powermaster series (971) Ford row-crop tractor, we decided to replace sleeves, pistons, rings and bearings since we had no idea of its use history. Here we are pulling the sleeves from the block trying to not damage it or the head surface.
The tool we built could be easily constructed by anyone with a welder, grinder and some scrap steel. We were working on the venerable Ford 172ci 4 cylinder diesel engine but the tools and technique would work for similarly sleeved car / truck and small engines.
I will be posting more videos of our beloved tractors' journey soon which, as of the date of posting, we still use frequently for all types of non-farm work.
