No Angela does not. She speaks for the interviewee. Why interview someone if you do not allow them to tell their story in their own words. Angela Yee cuts guests off just why they are opening up about some aspect of their life or experience. Angela speaks as if she is the interviewee and knows how they thought and felt. She does not. Plus Yee cannot just ask a question, she has to give a soliloquy that goes on and on before her actual question. Angela Yee is a poor interviewer because she interjects her personal interpretation of the interviewee's story into the interview. Charlamagne on the other hand, will ask an initial question and build follow-up questions based on the interviewee's story. Hence Charlamagne draws more intimate truths from BBC guests. This is what Charlamagne a great interviewer.

@johng5261

@@KingCapricorn115 the pimp victimized her as well but she didn't shoot him. She was 16, in most states thats a legal age of consent. If the story of prostitution is true and the man did pay her, then we have another legal issue. The fact she stayed overnight is somewhat telling that she told him that she had nowhere to go, needed help etc. She could have just walked right out the front door, and gotten help, but instead decided to shoot and kill a man with a shotgun while sleeping. Take a long look back at you at 16, for me here in NYC, I was already quite aware of the horrific nature of killing someone. At 16 I was sitting on my computer, downloading old videos of the youngbloodz or whatever. Also would go shopping for clothes pick out what I like. At 16, like most I was developed enough to do this. 16 isn't three years old. Now Tennessee has age of consent at 18, so I am just fine with him being charged with statutory rape, I am not fine with him being murdered.

The meaning, and any potential value in this entire interview is so compromised almost to make it useless, at best; The interviewers have all already made up their mind to be sympathetic and oh so sorry on our behalf. Yet there is and should be so much more to this story! ... Like it's ok to just go around n shoot all 43 yr old John's out there. Charlemagne and Envy can only manage shallow sympathetic questions because all their questions are filtered through their emotional handcuffs of fatherhood. The best these grown men interviewers can manage is, "... as a father, ..." or, my favorite, Envy be like, "He didn't know where you were, right?", while Charlemagne is like, "... stop, my anxiety, my anxiety ...", and even, "I feel God ...". Really? Then he teethes all giddy like a high school girl when Cyntoa blushed, come on!. As for Yee, well, say no more! ... Finishing her sentences etc. Pure emotions, no hard questions. I mean, she did shoot and kill a man at 16. Women legally get married at 16 in many places. Only interestingly meaningful part is the interview of the husband - at least we have a little detached emotions by the interviewers there. Shameful Breakfast club presentation! ... Y'all are jokers adding little value. Only passing judgement and pedling a book, like you do with all other things y'all peddle on radio; alcohol, entertainment, etc etc!

This is an irresponsible comment. Killing the threat saved her life, she should never have gone to prison. The system needs to change to recognize and help victims of human trafficking. I'm saying this knowing what I know about how victims of sex trafficking should be treated ie. get them to testify against their 'pimps' so you can get to the bigger boss that is enabling these 'pimps' to do this. taking on the trafficking system and rehabilitating the women and girls that were under that trafficking chain. So once she had contact with the cops she was supposed to be saved, not by going to prison but by the system helping to rehabilitate her. By the way, one of the ways they prosecute traffickers is by seizing their accounts (and I'm taking millions) and getting the labor of victims appraised and redistributing the money that helps victims re-establish a life. Because make no mistake, the minute you are trafficked your life STOPS. you are not in control of your own movements, you have no money, no control.

She was always intelligent, they mentioned that she was in a special program for academically gifted/accelerated students. She had GREAT adopted parents, but she had behavioral problems, which many intelligent kids do. She definitely a had very problematic early childhood and prenatal situation, and generational curses are real. She overcame extraordinary circumstances, and the way I see it is she had two options: change my life or accept my life..she changed hers.
