Mine ended up with the spring issue, couldn't get the slide off. Had a new pistol from CZ in 7 days from when I sent mine in. The new one has been perfect. Most p-10's won't have a single issue. CZ customer service will take care of it. Thank you CZ!

Hey guys, I just bought one today and almost every issues are solved by CZ. There is small metal ledge, where the spring from breach hold ends. Front block in the frame is now better shaped and don't collide with trigger bar. It is impossible now to move striker even a bit to the side. The bottom stumps of slide plate is slightly tapered, but you can still jam up the breach if you slide it more. I don't think it could happend during shooting. So I belive the only thing, that is same is the magazine catch. But my particular P10C have no problem with that at all. Sorry, I have didn't check the part with the crack yet, also didn't shoot yet. Also maybe it is important to mention that I bought it in my country...Czech Republic. But as I know, most guns made here go to export and I belive that solved issues will be the same as my particular one. Sorry for my english, but hope this comment help someone with decision.

This is the only honest review of the P10c I’ve ever seen. All the other reviewers seem to have got p10c’s from the first batch and they were nothing but perfect... a lot of the regular guys are having issues but you’d never know it. If you bring up problems you’re having and DON’T act like the issues are no big deal and isolated to just you...then you get called a Glock fanboy.

Not much unfortunately. On a Glock or M&P, the slide channel wraps down under the striker, leaving just a small gap. On the P10, one entire side is open, allowing the striker assembly to flex down.

If you're looking for a P10C, and its been made recently, the kinks are gone now, I bought one in July or August, 2018 and it has been shooting without any failures or problems of any kind. Oops, sorry Earl, you were right. The notch you were speaking of, is cut out of the slide and not the striker plate, right at the edge of the plate on the right hand side. People looking at reviews.....there is a notch on the right side of the striker plate cut out of the slide, not the plate, that marks its a newer one without the problems. I don't know what its actually for, but if that notch is there, its a newer model. It should be....I don't know if the plates are interchangeable from P10C's with problems to P10C's without problems...I would think CZ would keep that in mind so you couldn't do it. Ive put at least 2000 rounds through it, no problems whatsoever. My favorite gun to shoot right now, even over a 75 SP01. Light, accurate as I can be, and a tough little sucker. The only thing I want to do to mine is change the sights and get higher, than 10, capacity mags.

Cracked frame on an brand new pistol? And CZ says it's ok? Many people have said, "Why buy a Glock, when you have so many other pistols to choose from?" I agree to a point. Replacing Glock's plastic sights and an undercut trigger guard is what I prefer. So, Glock "perfection" isn't accurate either. But, what you do get with a Glock that you rarely see with any other manufacturer? It's good old fashioned reliability! Sure, a Glock can have issues, but it's pretty rare. Thirty years of making reliable pistols is pretty good track record and I believe that reliability is at the top of the list when buying a firearm!

Apples to oranges. In the 80's when Glock was introduced, they had all sorts of issues, including cracked frames. Id say the issues were much worse than we see here. Given the feedback, and looking at the aftermarket, CZ has already created a solid gun and have already made the corrections. Still, if your going to be an early adopter, be ready for the few teething problems you're likely to encounter with any firearm or man made object.

I’ve had mine for a while now. Here are the issues I’ve had. It came from the factory with no frame pins installed in it. Went back to CZ and whoever the gorilla was that installed them boogered up the polymer that surrounds the pin holes. Got it back and managed to get about 20 rounds through it before the slide stop spring popped out of place causing the slide to lock up. Went back to CZ and the fix they’ve come up with involved grinding or creating a burr in the metal on the side of the front rail/locking block to keep the spring from popping up high enough to interfere with the slide rails. The issue I have now concerns the automatic safety(as CZ calls it) It’s held in place by a plastic striker housing that’s supposed to keep the safety at a 90 degree angle in relation to the striker. Obviously the plastic housing has warped from the heat cycles the gun goes through and now the safety is cocked to one side. It has actually worn down the side of the striker because the striker can slip past the safety. Made me wonder if it’s drop safe anymore so I contacted CZ. I was quickly told that this was normal and nothing to worry about. I haven’t checked it for frame cracks but I’ve got no doubt they are there considering how many times the gun has already been disassembled. Having said all that I must admit that when it works it’s the most accurate polymer striker gun I own. I’ve been a CZ fan for many years and own many of their metal hammer guns as well as their rifles. They have always just worked right out of the box but this P10 is a different beast altogether. It has become the most over-hyped and under-tested gun I’ve ever purchased. It’s painfully obvious that CZ rushed this thing to market either 1. They tested it and knew it had issues but dumped them in the market anyway or 2. They didn’t test the thing at all because they were running behind getting it to market. lol of the issues that the gun has had surface very quickly so it’s hard to excuse the lack of QC. My suggestion is that if you want a CZ stick with one of their proven hammer fired models. I originally intended for the P10c to replace a Gen4 Glock but that’s out of the question now. I’m buying a M&P 2.0 Compact to fill that roll. As a matter of fact the 2.0 Compact has had zero issues and shoots quite well. As soon as the P10 finds a new home I’ll be getting the 2.0 Compact.

Sounds like everything can be fixed with better parts, which could be done in a recall and ironed out for future releases. This isn't CZ's usual design, so problems in the first waves make sense. Every manufacturer has its faults and all have at 1 point put out a crappy product. Even glock has had its issues in the past. Luckily i have had none of these issues with my p10c, and I am confident that cz will in fact honor their warranty if any of these issues ever do arise. Cz had top notch customer service. Buddy a mine cracked his frame on a 3rd gen glock 22. Glock wanted to charge him 200 bucks to fix the issue, and insisted he wasnt shooting factory ammo. He was. Good luck with your p10c.

Darl An, my one Glock wasn't reliable. In 2009 they increased manufacturing tolerances. I'm an engineer, so I decided not to sent it back but find out what was wrong. When I replaced the recoil spring with one that would have been within the old tolerances, the gun worked great! Look at beginner classes, Glocks are not as reliable as the M&P 2.0, Sigs, or Walthers.

Great informative video! I just purchased a CZ P10c and watched your video before doing so. I checked the rear slide base plate at the gun store and mag release and both seemed just fine. At the firing range I had one malfunction due to the rear slide plate coming down enough causing a Failure to feed on round 55. So it must have came loose during firing as it was solid at the shop. The mag release is stiff but works ok. I did notice that with a loaded mag it is a little difficult to eject the mag. Pushing up on the bottom of the mag while pressing the mag release makes it far easier to remove the mag but I shouldn't have to do that. I really really like my CZ P10c but my Walther PPQ M2 Navy will remain my go to handgun for now. Once again, great video!

Just picked up a P-10C. One thing I noticed was that when the trigger resets the slide shifts to the left. Its not much movement but it does move. It's more pronounced when loaded. Curious if others have noticed that. The Glocks, M&P and Rugers that I own don't do that. Only other issue was throwing brass at about 2 o'clock. I reload but when it goes past the firing line its gone. I do love the way the gun feels.
@earlan2569
6 жыл бұрын
Not uncommon to see some shift. I notice the back of the slide dips as I dry-fire then pops up when the trigger breaks. It has to do with the way the trigger bar drags on the striker and/or safety lever. If you load up a mag with dummy rounds and dry-fire, the pressure from the magazine spring will hold the slide up against the rails and limit movement.

Great video. I unfortunately had the slide spring release issue that you spoke of there at the very end. I did send it back in two weeks time I got it back and I can see that they welded a little bit of a piece of metal to help hold the spring in the groove between it and the frame. Put another couple hundred rounds through it.. no problem however when it was having a problem like every 60 to 80 rounds before I sent it back to CZ. I have the black CZ P-10C. The largest complaint about the Glock generation 5 is that it has an Ambi slide release and some people don't like some Aesthetics stuff about it. I'm sure there are some that are failing but not on a systemic design basis. There is a difference between a 'lemon' and a bad design. CZ has a lot of work to do. I would not buy a metal-frame Glock either. Companies tend to start screwing up when they get outside of their wheelhouse

I tried a black background before, but it ended up being worse depending on what I was presenting. I had to manually adjust the white balance every few seconds. I like white for still photos but I'm gonna try green or blue at some point for videos.

Any update on whether or not they addressed these issues in current batches? It's July 2018 currently

Pretty much. The only things I'm still hearing about is the mag release and slide lock being stiff for some people but they smooth out with use. Newer models have a groove for the striker assembly that prevents it and the slide plate from dropping down. The front rail insert has a tab to prevent the slide lock spring from popping out, and the corners are relieved to clear the trigger bar better. I think they've switched to metal guide rods as well.

Thanks for the video. question? now that you have the proper angle cuts, would you say that the sliding backplate is a non issue?

I’m not worried anymore. I just ran a 2 day class in a shoot house with it and it ran great.

Hi. I was wondering what the Shepard’s hook spring is for? Is it for the slide lock? Mine looks like it getting worn down by the slide.

It's for the slide lock.

Great review but I don't understand how you can say this gun has so many problems, almost every well-known reviewer is having major failures with there p10c and sending them back to the factory multiple times for repairs and you finish by saying Great Gun. A GREAT GUN IS ONE YOU CAN TRUST YOUR LIFE TOO.

Have you had complaints about the slide being loose on the frame? If I️ pinch the nose of the slide & frame, or try to wiggle the slide side to side there is some play.

It's no looser than any other striker fired gun I've owned.

CZ sp01 phantom And that P09 are the best guns they make in polymer and I think are better options the compact version is great as well but I would stick to their steel guns and stuff like that just to ensure that I have their greatest reliability I wouldn’t want to be in the middle of something and have a spring goes sideways

Hows the accuracy been? Throughout YOUR 5k rounds of course, much change from day one to 5k round day? I'm really wanting to get one of these and its July 2018 now. Have you found out about any improvements since you started to now? I'm gonna watch your video again, I just happen to be really f'n tired right this minute. Oh, and when you start talking about the striker, I've been in a store and held on to one of these and the whole slide rocks left to right and right to left, grabbing it as if you're gonna pull the slide back and load the chamber. Let me know please...seriously thinking about getting one, unless theres still work to be done on them at the time you read my question and comments. Thanks for the video on these p10c's. I seriously enjoyed you picking it apart for me, but now whataya think as of 7/2018??

Yeah the slide moves around on the frame. No better or worse than other polymer framed striker guns. Accuracy hasn't changed for me. I'm up to about 6.5k now. I actually don't shoot it as much as I used to. Ended up going back to my Glocks and I'm toying with a Sig. I woudn't hesitate to pick up a P10C now. They pretty much fixed everything although slide and mag release buttons are still stiff for some people when new. The telltale sign of a newer one is a square notch in the slide to the right of the rear cover plate.

Well I bought one, and per your advice, looked for the square notch(ON the right side of the plate, not slide, correct?) and it was there. It's, right now, my favorite gun to put a few hundred rounds down range at any given time. I didn't think I would like it as much as I do. I'm now thinking of getting one with a threaded barrel. I also bought a couple of the refurbed P226's, and as of right now, will NEVER buy another SIG ever. I asked one of the guys there to pick out a nice one for me(when they came in) and what they tried to sell me looked as if it had been used at a training facility. I've only been shooting one of the two(I bought 2 bc I figured I'll have one in .40 and one in 9mm). The one I've been shooting has been having a fail-to-feed problem in almost every mag I've put through it, although now, after over 1000 rounds through it, the FTF problem is down to about 1 in 100. Compared to CZ, thats one too many. Im waiting to talk to the manager about them, already telling him I wanted to keep them instead of giving them back, since there does seem to be an improvement. If it costs 25% to restock back to the shelves, I might just keep them and try to have them repaired to work flawlessly, if possible. Nobody else is having this problem, I'm told. I really thought that after being refurbed at the factory that they would work perfect 99 44/100ths% of the time....NOPE. Very disappointed with refurbed service P226's....If you were thinking of one of those, put the dough toward something you really want, instead of my thinking was like BOGO, and have 2 different calibers. sorry so long of a reply...hope I might have helped you with some info. I really appreciate info I got from you, and it helped. Take care, be safe and blaze away at the range.

amazing job walking through the huge number of issues with the CZ. The more I think about it the more it looks like a total piece of trash out of the factory...and I LOVE CZ. So it pains me sayin that :-(

In all the P10c models you have worked on, have you noticed the gap between the slide and frame being larger on one side of the gun? I have two. Both stock, and function perfect. But one has a larger gap between the frame and slide on the right side of the gun.
