(EN) It's amazing to watch the trains go by; so is riding them. The train allows you to create a unique experience every time you see them or are aboard one (although, it's not always the way you want it to be). But, there's something that makes it equally or even more special, and that is its people: the railroad workers. Those hundreds of men and women who make it work day after day as much as possible.
As a way of recognizing their work, the National Railway Workers Day is celebrated every October 6 (as of 2012), a date that symbolizes two milestones as important as dichotomous between them: the enactment of one of the first laws of the sector (1862) and the shooting of 11 workers of the San Bernardo train workshop by members of the Army, just under the context of the first month after the military coup and the beginning of the dictatorship led by Pinochet and Company (1973).
It's a small compilation that, although it begins with a somewhat comical tone (with something that sometimes happens to us train enthusiasts), tries to summarize everything that has been more than 15 years recording the adventures that happen on rails on my part; and well, paying tribute, in part, to the link I had or still have with several railroaders over the years, to whom I am very grateful.
The most curious thing about this video is the fact that this is the no. 269 of this channel...
And, by the way, thanks to all the people who have accompanied me all these years. There will be little news soon.
Soon, more rail fan videos.
