D'Banj doesn't get the accolades he deserves. As long as music is concerned he deserves to be inducted into Nigeria's hall of fame.

Unfortunately, there isn't anything faintly near what you just mentioned. Nigeria doesn't have that notion of recognizing or celebrating achievements such as that. Even recipients of national awards are forgotten the next day. They merely struggle for bragging rights by attaching those suffixes (OON, GCON, CFR, MON etc) to their names.

Good day people. I observe with avid interest the come back path of once popular musicians. Very few succeed because unlike Madonna they cannot reinvent themselves to keep up with the times. D'banj I'm glad to say has got this 95% right. Straight forward lyrical message, sharp colourful vibrant well framed shots, and by using the JK Randle Centre for Yoruba Culture in Lagos and the African Renaissance Monument in Dakar, adds a touch of cultural depth to the video. The 5% D'banj got wrong was that he didn't include better known contemporary dancers from Senegal and Nigeria. Imagine Poco Lee giving a few legwork moves and Yossour's Mbalax dancers doing the same. It would have widened the videos appeal to those not familiar with D'banj and his current offerings I wish D'banj all the best and if he continues along this trajectory he will ascend with certainty.

Good day. There are many excellent musicians in Africa. I believe you meant to say Nigeria. Even so your statement is not entirely accurate. There was a time early in their careers when TuFace & D'banj were upcoming. Music is very much a generational thing and we all cling to what we know and like. If you believe TuFace & D'banj are the best fair enough.. Have a great day!
