Thank you turks for being so much more friendly and helpful for society than other nationalities in Germany. Had so much bad experience with kurds, syrians, afghans etc. I never heard a turk doing a terrorist attack in Germany or stabbing someone. Because turks are no monsters. Turks are kindhearted.

Literally depends. Often the „scharfe Sauce“ is not spicy at all. So you have to know the kebab shop to know what to expect.

@@corago2472It's a bit of a slang term. Döner places are usually run by Turkish immigrants who tend to speak somewhat broken German with a few typical quirks. Expressions like "mit alles" (instead of "mit allem"), and "mit scharf" (using the adjective "scharf" as a noun) became such a cliche part of that subculture, that native German speakers started to use them too in this context.

@@ChimiChuri-k2o The refugees? That's nonsense 😅. The Döner was first intruduced by turkish people who came in the 1960s/70s to Germany as guest workers and decided to open their own businesses. Since they were far from fluent in German they used "mit alles" instead the grammatically correct "mit allem". But in this context it has become accepted and even native Germans use it. "Mit allem" sounds a bit weird 😅

Es heißt "mit allem" (obwohl das grammatikalisch gesehen nicht korrekt ist)! 😂 Ich habe Germanistik studiert und ich finde es toll, dass Sprachen sich ändern. Z.B "ich chatte grad mit ihr". Wir haben sehr viele englische Einflüsse in den letzten Jahren bekommen. Noch eine interessante Sache: Viele sagen auch "wegen meinem Kind bin ich zu spät gekommen". Eigentlich heißt es "wegen meines Kindes bin ich zu spät gekommen" oder "des Kindes wegen bin ich zu spät gekommen". Ende mit Klugscheißerei! Ich bestelle mir jetzt ein Döner mit allem. 😂

A German college came to İstanbul and wanted to eat Lahmacun. I asked why? He said restaurants in Germany don’t give salad. Restaurants in Türkiye gives as much as you can eat. He put all lettuce, onion, parsley, in Lahmacun and enjoyed. Very interesting point as normal for all Turkish people

There is the open and the closed ö Sound. To my knowledge, no English word exists that uses the closed Sound that appears in Döner. „Search“ has the open ö Sound

As a German who grew up in Turkiye, anything expect the taste of the meat is PERFECT. Theres a thing that makes Turkish meat so delicious and tasty regardless the place, and the way they make döner, I love both of them but I can't say no to a German Döner.

Dude you don't know what have you just done. I used to eat these because my dad worked at a five star restaurant and he would bring this every Friday. He lost his job their so I couldn't eat it anymore because i couldn't find it in any other restaurants in my country. I loved it so much but I didn't even know what it actually was I just knew it is called donur and everyone mistaken it for donuts I thought i would never get to eat this beautiful dish. Until today j learned that its a Turkish dish after your short. Thank you so much. This is my favorite dish.

Don't get one "mit scharf". They usually end up being extremely spicy/hot. So be careful if you can't handle spicy food. Might also be worth not getting onions, or you'll still taste that Döner 3 days later. Enjoy your stay!

@@fabianstiefel1586This is the only way to order it correctly in Germany 👍😉 Fun story: I once stood in the line behind an American couple, and the lovely lady ordered in perfect German: "Ein Rollo mit allem, bitte." They had asked someone in the line what to order and how to order it in German, which I found very sweet. (For those who don‘t know: Rollo, which was invented in Bremen at exactly the place we were at, is quite similar to Dürüm) The guy behind the counter smiled at her and corrected her with a wink: "Mit alles." The lady was confused and I felt a little bit sorry for her, but for the rest of us it was a good laugh, and the German guy who stood next to the couple explained the joke to them. They still seemed confused, but at least they understood that the joke was not meant to offense them 😅

Leider ja. Früher war es ne günstige und leckere alternative für ein schnelles mittagessen. Weiß noch als der 3,50€ gekostet hat. Und der war groß. Mittlerweile zahlste 8 - 9 euro für n mini döner und wirst nichtmal mehr satt...... Hab mir früher öfter mal einen gegönnt. Mitrlerweile ist es 1 - 2 mal im jahr

This is true. It really is like that. That döner will be inedible. In Germany mostly Turkish and Maroccan people make döners. They know how to make them lethally spicy. I learned.

I had that happen to me drunk at 3 AM in our go-to Döner place, pretty much this exact conversation. Dude layered 1-2 cm of chili flakes on top of the Dõner and all i could do was watch cause no way ill say something. The good thing is after 5 bites it was normal again, but the burn lasted for over an hour

Erinnert an Mittermeiers Sketch in dem er erzählt in so nem Ami-Diner ein Chili con Carne mit dem Zusatz „Hot“ bestellt zu haben. Er muss wohl beider Bestellung noch gedacht haben „Geh moch des g'scheit scharf, des passt scho!“ Später muss er wohl gewinselt haben. Nie wieder wollte er aufs Klo, es sollte für immer drin bleiben. Irgendwann schrie er, man solle das Chili einfach rausoperieren.

I practically lived off of doner kebabs while in Vienna. You could find stalls selling them at every U-bahnhof. My favorite by far was the Doner mit Pommes, a box filled with chips with doner meat on top? Can't be beat.

The box with kebab meat and chips is called Dönerbox (a kebab box) or Pommdöner (pommdöner, it means french fries + kebap). Or jokingly Osmanischer Gulaschkanister (Ottoman goulash canister).

There is a turkish place in Berlin that's absolutely amazing. I would get 2 every other day. One the staff once asked if they were for me. I said yes. These things are not small and i am not big. He asked me sit in as i ate. And i demolished them both. Then asked for a plate of roast veg with sauce and cheese. Washed down with alot of cha coke. It is on the corner of prenzlaur across from the Kaisers.

I’m a Dane. There was a German guy at my college. His group had to make him a “This is sarcasm” sign to hold up whenever sarcasm was used. Also, he was a total genius, could do anything; programming, photography, electronics, wood work etc. When asked how he had time for all of this, he said he just didn’t watch TV (he couldn’t see the point of it). 👍😁🇩🇪

the trick is that these words are made up by a buncha words, so you just pronounce the words individually and work your way up If you wanna suffer, try saying small box of matches: Streichhölzerkästelschen
