This video is dedicated to Teresa Teng's Singapore fan base. Singapore was her launching pad to start her Southeast Asia career expansion when she accepted a performance invitation of Noor Aishah, the first lady of Singapore in 1969.
The original song was "Spring Of The North", sung by 千昌夫 (Sen Masao);
いではく (Ide Haku) wrote the lyrics; 遠藤実 (Endou Minoru) composed the song. The lyrics depict the homesickness of the overseas countrymen and became Japan's most popular folk song in 1979. Its influence spilled into other Asian countries and in 1988, this song was voted the most well-known foreign song in ten years in the China mainland.
