I can picture that slow movement softly carrying an insect toward the stickies without frightening the insect away.

I think they move approximately at the same speed, but it mostly depends on the conditions, for example, the temperature.

D. burmannii and D. sessilifolia are two different species, so no. Only clones are genetically identical.

Oh yes, they are closely related. Apparently in cultivation a lot of D. sessilifolia are misnamed and actually are D. burmannii or a hybrid of the two.
