He probably does. One thing about people with any kind of dementia is that they know who they like for a really long time, up until the most extreme stages. There are people they feel safe and happy with. He seems pretty trusting and happy. Can I send grandpa Ed a set of keys?? I have heard him all too many times, referred to his keys and checkbook, those things secure him as a lot of us who have no memory loss! You can give him my checkbook with his name on it does not have to be his real account if you were afraid he’s going to write checks or something like that… Give him a set of keys what is monogram on them I would be happy to send him a sack! I am 30 years younger than grandpa, Ed, but my keys and checkbook have to be nearby me! I think it would be a simple solution if he had a checkbook at Marks house and at Dan’s house. I don’t like when he is frustrated. it hurts my heart. Even though his frustration does not last long, and he is very compliant…🥹💙

Your father has just this wonderful grace and warmth about him. Even when he must be scared - petrified , just mad or anything - He somehow always seems to recalibrate and see the best in any situation. Both he and you are incredibly inspirational. Thank you Dan and Ed.

i work within dementia wards sometimes and usually the frustration patients feel stem from confusion and lack of freedom but also the fact that they are away from their loved ones. you and your brother are doing so well taking care of your dad.
