Dad hasn't been in her life. Mom has kept Dad in the daughter's life, in her daughter's heart. Dad could write letters, mom had to take herself and daughter to Dad over all those years. Mom had to speak to daughter throughout those long years in a manner that allowed daughter to develop the emotions she expressed when she saw her Dad. Thank Mom.

You are so correct but I think the argument wasn't so much that a father's presence didn't make a difference it was just to highlight that it could certainly be done w/out one especially if that's the reason for staying in a bad relationship. But you pinned the tail in the donkey, both are extreme and either are good

Having a dad makes such a difference. I wanted a dad so badly when I was a little baby. So heartbreaking, I was so young craving a dad who would love me so dearly but I never got that because he didn’t want me. Because of it I feel so empty, having a dad matters, they lead, provide, teach, and protect.

A mother can not take the place of a father even the impact of a good-step father. My biological dad didn't want anything to do with me. I was 9 when my dad (step-dad) came into my life. He will always be MY dad. To all the men out there with children even if they aren't yours, your presence in your daughter's or son's life could be the difference whether or not they continue family curses. Fathers matter. Your love, protection, wisdom, support and sacrifice makes you a hero EVERY SINGLE DAY. Keep going and don't give up.

You would think he was never gone. I'm thankful that we still were able to parent together the best that we could & that our kids still highly respect & value their dad so much. This was so amazing to see. Dad's are very important in their children's lives.

@@Bane5393 in some people’s opinions Black fathers being in their kid’s lives is a point of emphasis because of the Black father absence that exists in the Black community. He obviously did something wrong and wasn’t able to be in his daughter’s life for a period of time, but the important thing is that he’s out now. The Black family structure is the root of Black power. That’s my interpretation. I can’t speak for the guy who made the initial comment.
