Well done with the tripod and support blocks. Very safely and efficiently done.

It's a good idea! Trying to pull even smaller diameter items like posts of various kinds is really difficult to manage the jack wanting to pull forward in to the object. You lose a lot of height and leverage especially if the bottom begins to slip out the other way.

Diablo makes sawzall blades with tungsten carbide teeth that don't dull when cutting roots right through soil. Would be nice when combined with the jack.

I wonder if you could use metal conduit pipes as legs rather than 2 x 4 wood. By using steel pipes it would give you more clearance and allow you to raise the jack a few more times and be lighter than the wood. Great video, Just a suggestion.

Thanks for the video. I've got myself a jack but struggling to find where to buy the other stuff. What chain did you buy and also what type of hook did you buy to attach it to the jack? Many thanks
@Rilezsvids
2 жыл бұрын
The chain my dad was using was a 5/16ths inch grade 70 trucker's chain from Harbor Freight. It comes with hooks already attached. Harbor Freight also has grade 43 chain that should work as well. If you are interested we could do a video talking more in detail about the setup

Awesome!-look like 4X4 Front Stabilizers you made. Is that a 60 inch Farm Jack? If so, what length did you cut for your front Stabilizers and what diameter Threaded Rod or Bolt size and length did you use at the Top to secure through the jack? I have 25 Cedar Hedge Stumps to pull that were a hedge from 37 years ago, biggest about the size of the stump you pulled. Good Video, Thanks.

I have a 48 inch farm jack and cut mine the same length. I think cutting them longer would be better for stabilizing and leverage? Whatever you're pulling should be relative easy like this video. If you encounter resistance be ready with a Sawzall or something to cut roots as you pull it up. I broke my first Farm Jack because I didn't cut roots. IMO this method should work great for your cedar hedges, good luck with your project.

Rather than pulling the stump, why not think LEVERAGE and PULL the whole tree over ? Nature knocks over trees. Does Nature ever remove stumps ? Hmmm ? It's not rocket surgery guys.
