My husband is a Ford fanatic. His first truck was a 1967 F100. He now has two, a 1976 F100 Ranger XLT and a 1977 F150 Custom. He is not computer savvy at all and has never spent much time online but he really enjoys KZitem so for this Christmas I bought him a really nice tablet. Our teen daughter set it up for him so that he just taps the icon and is right here. I hadn't noticed him using it and was beginning to wonder if I had wasted money until just a few minutes ago. I heard him laughing and muttering and so on and had to find out what was going on. Well, I found him lying on the couch, tablet in hand, watching this video. He just enjoyed it so much and got the biggest kick out of imagining hunting down his 1967 F100. I just wanted to say thanks for uploading this for all the Ford classic truck lovers out there.

I remember going for rides with my dad in his 1990 F-150. Feet could not touch the floor or anything. I would love the long rides with him. He passed in 2003 and had to sell the truck about 2 yrs ago. I have two kids and had bills to pay to keep the roof over our house, the last thing I ever wanted to do was sell my dads truck. I sold his truck, bought us some time to figure out living situation, and now that im back on my feet, I would buy that truck for 10,000 dollars right now. I cried when my dad died, and I cried when I sold him that truck, so between 2003 and 2012 would not let out one tear, but I would fall to my knees if I could get my dads truck back....R.I.P. 06/27/03

I'm such a sucker for videos like this. This is just beautiful. So many memories for your dad. I love to see sons who love their dad this much. And maybe I just watched Herbie the Love Bug too many times back in this era, and anthropomorphize vehicles too much, but its like watching Black Beauty come home to the people who loved him first and best, after long weary years of abuse. We had one of these when I was a kid, a '76, 386 V-8 F-250 with ton truck axles. It was a rare truck, only a handful were built, and it got 8 mpg on its best day in the height of the fuel crisis. Makes you want to stick a two speed rear in it to improve the gas mileage, but it was a beast and would do about anything, provided its bias plys could keep traction. I hope you are able to restore it to original.

I recently sold Ol' Yeller...my '72 F-100 that I bought in 1983. That adds up to 33 years of ownership...360 cu.in 2 bbl, 4-speed with granny low...2 wheel drive. The speedometer stopped long ago but I guess between 550,000 and 600,000 total miles. I rebuilt the engine in '91 and had the heads redone twice. Two years ago I bought a restored '70 F-250 with 460 cu. in., auto, AC, Dana 60. That generation of Ford trucks are simple, solid, and heavy. I think the best Ford ever built.

I am so glad i stumbled upon this video. I LOVE the truck and the story it has to tell. I have dreams of some day finding my fathers lost 1957 Chevy race car. My father passed away and his Chevy is on my mind. We are a hard core Ford family, but Dad had a Chevy as a race car back in the 70's. I hope to find it just like you guys found your dads truck. God i love this video. rebuild her now.

I just love this video. I fell in love with a 1972 F100 that my father purchased in 1975. I was barely 2 yrs old at the time, but I remember it well, as it was with us well into my adult years. I learned to drive in it, with it's 3 speed on the column shift, 302CID engine, it came standard with power brakes, no power steering, and had a radio-delete plate in it. It was the metallic green color, nothing special about it as far as trucks go, but it had a special feeling to it, given the memories that were involved in it. It finally got parked with well over 450,000 miles on the second engine, and yet the body was in good shape on it, but I never personally had the chance to own it and restore it. I did, how-ever, purchase a 1969 F100 4x4 model myself, once out of high school, and that truck became my baby for 12 years. It saw me change out the 360 engine for a 390 that I rebuilt myself, complete with .060 over-bore, 10:1 pistons, mild RV cam to give it a little more power, but basically stock other than that. I added power-steering from a 1979 Ford Bronco donor truck, that also ended up donating the 4 speed and 2spd transfer case, which required a bit of drive-line work to make fit as the drive-shafts had to be altered. It also offered up the rear diff with it's stronger 31 spline axles, and the more modern front differential with disc brakes to help complete things a bit more. I would love to see future video of this truck, in it's restored condition, if such is available, as I just very simply appreciate the truck, as well as the effort to give it back to Dad after so many years. That took a lot of work on it's own, and that big old FE block is a testament to just how tough these trucks really are. Job well done, to the family that put this together. I hope your Christmases to come are just as special, with many more such memories involved.

My dad just gave me his 1969 F250. He was the second owner. The truck had been sitting for years when he gave it to me a month ago. A new battery and it fired right up. Currently, it's my video project and is a bare frame getting ready for sand blast. I've been filming everything and posting it so he can watch it too. It's the next best thing to him working on it with me, because he lives 600 miles away.

Even so I'm a Chevy man, I always loved the late 60's early 70's Fords like this one. During the late 80's my step Grandfather had a white 1969 Ford Sport Custom in mint condition. In the early 2000's on the interstate on my way to Atlanta air port I seen a pearl white, short wheel base fleet side 69 Sport Custom. It was lowered, tubbed out, tinted windows, bed cover and chrome wheels. It was running open flowmasters under the bed and it sounded absolutely sweet. My Cutlass sounded the same as it had the same exhaust system so side by side we were putting out quite a note.

dakota croasdale 1979 was the last of the good Fords. The frames were basically the same ones used from the 1960’s. The 1980’s thru the 1990’s were fire hazards with the plastic gasoline fuel lines that get brittle. All the Chevys from 1973 to the early 1990’s were fire hazards as well with their gasoline fuel tanks located outside the frame rails. All dodges when they changed body styles to mimic the eighteen wheeler look, all the interior plastic is brittle and junk. The early to mid eighties were bad times for car manufacturers because they had to lighten up the trucks and hang all this smog equipment to pass federal regulations. Those ford truck frames in the eighties and nineties were junk especially the f100’s and f150’s and 2000’s f150’s To reduce weight the punched all these holes in the frame rails. I’ve seen plenty of frames cracked at the rear frame rails and even welded the breaks at the owners request. The ford 5.4 liter engine is junk, blowing out spark plugs from the head. I own a 1966 f250 and f350 both good trucks. This is just my experience and complaints I’ve heard from ford truck owners. The f250 and f350 eighties on up I feel are good trucks because they are heavy duty especially the power strokes and the international Diesel engine they put in the 1980’s. Their bodies may fall apart but they keep on running.

It's amazing how little you had to do to get it driving

I am amazed by the key in the ignition during the junk yard scene.

There's something about these Ford Trucks!! I am buying a 74 F100 in mint condition to bring out to Australia from the USA, such is the passion for these vehicles. Basic engineering but a good looking, big 'car' is what these are about.

For a truck that sat in a junk yard it's really not in that bad of shape it doesn't look hacked up from people pulling parts off of it the bed is shot but there as easy to change as a tire for all the idiot haters with their stupid comments their just jealous because they don't have the know how or dedication to tackle projects like this
I almost bought this pickup from pegasus, but the asking price was a little high for me. I was just gonna use the chassis. Glad your restoring it. I was surprised to see it gone the other day when i went in there!
