Funnily enough, I grip the handle on the door a lot when in the car with my mom 😂. She has a bad habit of texting and driving. I remember shortly after I got my license, she nearly went into a ditch or had to swerve to avoid something and when I told her to please pay attention, she snapped, "Would YOU like to drive?!" I instantly said "YES!" and so I drove us home while she texted 😂. I love her to pieces, but I'm really frickin surprised that every accident she's had has legitimately not been her fault (a man not paying attention that vehicles were stopping at a red light and rear-ended her and then a drunk driver hit her. Thankfully, an under cover cop car was present and gave chase and the guy would wreck his vehicle right outside her apartment complex). Now with bluetooth making it easy to just do hands-free calling, she doesn't text and drive as much...but it still happens.

@BewareTheLilyOfTheValley

In my experience, the highway was easier. There's no stop lights, no tricky turns to make. The most difficult part for me was learning to maintain my speed instead of slowing down and learning to safely overtake other vehicles if I was going faster than them. Oh, and paying attention to traffic suddenly coming to a stop, but you don't have any clues as to why. I remember traffic once was backed up due to construction but where I was stopped was long before the construction signs began. Someone behind me wasn't paying attention and I watched in my side mirror as a pickup truck zoomed past on the shoulder of the road to avoid rear-ending whomever was in front of them. They were so close to all the cars, though, that they knocked off a side mirror of a van a few cars ahead of me before plummeting into the ditch that separates the two sides of the interstate. I believe dude was alright but definitely was shaken when he got out of the truck.
