The Cypher system is my go to TTRPG, I can’t go back to classes not after you can effectively build your own. But I really like what they have here, I’ve been very intrigued by it.

Cypher is about my favorite, but classes still call me. BUT….grinding…ist just a hard no. I LOVE Dragonbane because its got classes, no grinding, and a lot of danger while still being FAST. But Cypher is SO FUN TO RUN.

@@DMTalesTTRPG I love the world, very very much. D&D 1st is not my cup of tea, but at least its interpretation of the rules is a little more clear and concise, I guess. I still wish it used a more modern D&D-like ruleset. The classes are very cool tho.

I.. kinda concur. I’m more a B/X guy than AD&D, and much prefer ascending AC even though I used descending back in the day.

Thanks for making this! I've been somewhat interested in this game, mainly for ideas I could steal/borrow/mine for the B/X game I run for my daughter and her friends. Great stuff!

I've been following this game and watching some actual plays, and it seems like combat in DH may not be any faster that in D&D, but it's far more dynamic -- flexible and versatile, high-flying and ever-changing. It's an impressive system so far, but definitely crunchy. Won't be playtesting it, but would love to try it out someday.

There's some elements of this that seem like fun. I certainly like the "all rolls have consequences," aspect. I'm not a big Epic Fantasy fan, and I don't love all the bells and whistles with cards and whatnot. I saw someone mention that they were worried about there being too much of the Hope and Fear being dished out, and I can see that. Again, I don't think the game is for me, but more power to them for doing something a bit different.

Nice video, however completely of topic, have you ever done a similar video on "The One Ring" (starterset)?

Oh interesting that it's built in whether to be public or private rolls that could become a meta tool for the GM to increase anxiety haha

Great video. I'm not a fan of narrative first or heavy games. I like rolling that dice, and I like crafting a world and adventures. Narrative games usually are not my cup of tea.

That’s fine. I didn’t used to be. I like how every roll changes the narrative somehow. That can be fun. But no one needs to like every game!

IDK... i am still on the fence about this one. I do like the concept, we will see what they do with it. If i am not playing Pathfinder 2e, it will be SWADE or OpenLegend RPG

It’s on my radar and I appreciate the hybridization attempt, but in the end it’s crunchy high fantasy which just isn’t my jam.

For a "rules lite" game, there's an awful lot of rules and things to track.

@sketchasaurrex4087 huh. Yah. It’s less tactical but there are many moving parts.
