Lately, we use any excuse to get out of the office and take a test drive. A few days ago, we met up with Adam and took his 2019 Mustang GT out for a quick spin. It's a well modified GEN 3 5.0L Coyote featuring a GT350 Intake manifold and ARH exhaust system for a boost in sound and power. To increase the durability of the drivetrain, a Calimer Transmission 26 spline Stage 3 MT-82 was added along with our Mantic Twin Disc. For smoother shifting, a short throw MGW Shifter and braided stainless line help improve the driving experience. Overall this car drives and looks really good, its a nice example of choosing the right parts for more power in the future yet maintain a comfortable driving experience.
We made this video to show the daily driving capability of a Stage 3 transmission and our ceremetallic clutch on the popular S550 Mustang platform. As you can see, operation is much like a stock clutch with no chatter and the same engagement point as an oem single disc. The aluminum flywheel is lighter, offering less rotational mass which translates to more power at the wheels. Even driving at low speed, there wasn't any clutch noise and the experience was pleasant at all rpm levels.
