How do you rate your 8th gen against the previous FK8? Considering an FL5 from my current 8th gen sedan.
@silverfg2
2 күн бұрын
@@dillon_r_hansen fantastic question! Bottom line is that it comes down to cost. I recently almost bought an FL5, but to be quite frank. I’m not OK with parting with $50,000 for 310 hp. Because I know how I am, I will spend $15-$20,000 right away to get up to 450 to 500 hp, wheels and tires, clear bra, full paint, correction and ceramic coating. It’s just a horrible financial decision unless you’re someone that literally can play with $70,000 like nothing. This platform has so much potential, and I can go between supercharger and Turbo charger if I please. And they don’t make the coupe anymore, so I like the fact that I own something they no longer make. However, if somebody told me you can have a 500 hp FL5 or FK8 or a 500 hp eighth GEN, I would go with either type R over the eighth GEN.
@dillon_r_hansen
2 күн бұрын
@@silverfg2 great answer! Recently ditched my 23 BRZ because I told myself I wouldnt mod and 6 months later I was itching like crazy. This has me leaning towards staying with my 8th gen. $20k down on an FL5 would go crazy far on the Si instead. I enjoy time on the road course and canyons so cornering and feedback from the car is my top priority. dont know if i will get a 5x improvement in that area for the cost. The dual axis strut front suspension is what really turned me onto the new R's a couple years back but Im not sure that alone justifies the cost and jumping platforms since im not competing for any money.
@silverfg2
2 күн бұрын
@@dillon_r_hansen if you’re looking for handling, R all day. That car performed phenomenally on winding roads. If you’ll use it for what it was made I’d go FL5 honestly. As long as the budget allows. Not worth having a insane payment if you can’t cash out on it.
