The set of images is screen-printed by hand onto a bed of brass powder suspended in medium. When the artist applies glacial acetic acid to the surface of the print, the resulting oxidation reaction generates a unique pattern, thereby altering the image as a function of chance. The chemical reaction is influenced by atmospheric conditions, such as oxygen levels, humidity, temperature, or pollutants in the air.
