Yeap. In my neighboring country of Germany there were plenty old Nazi and SS Soldiers still alive doing their little salute until very recently. Crazy to think what they saw and experienced in their lifetime. The atrocities they committed or took part in. The border changes. Real crazy stuff. In the year 1800 there existed real cowboys in the wild west, proper samurai in feudal Japan and African tribesmen living in stone age, all while Napoléon was marching on Egypt. It's nuts if you think about it...

Every single place i go i cant understand a word being said, mexicans crowd every space and dont even TRY moving out of your way and theyll just hold up entire parking lots by talking to their friends/family, EVERYTHING is BEYOND expensive, the roads are absolute shit, the traffic is horrendous, the heat in the summer is miserable to be out in but winters still get cold as shit so it doesnt balance out where half the year is nice and half isnt; its just always shit. One of the most effective ways to put time in perspective is to research your own genealogy. When you really think about the generations that were within reach of each other, it makes you realize just how young our country is. I'm a millennial. I have sat in a room as a child with my great grandparents who were born in the 1890s. They were born before their grandparent died, who were born in the 1810s. So, I personally have looked in the living eyes of someone who has themselves looked in the living eyes of someone born at the turn of the 19th century. That is just mind blowing that it's possible in 2023 to have verbal second hand accounts told of stories from the mid-1800s.
