In addition, the Cowboys offensive line coach, Mike Solari, worked under Jim Harbaugh and Greg Roman with the 49ers in 2012, when Kaepernick took San Francisco to the Super Bowl. If you recall how dominant that offensive line was, with Frank Gore gaining 1500 yards from scrimmage, that was Mike Solari -- NFL coaches consider him to be a top offensive line coach (far better than Philbin), but I haven't heard the media say much about him.

Don’t give away all the secrets lol. I hope you’re right though, remember when we got Seattle’s secondary coach and thought we would have the next legion? When really it was DQ! Niner fan here that follows pro football all over the league. You guys have a very nice addition in Solari. Everything starts with Mike McCarthy who is assuming play-calling duties, but Schottenheimer and Solari are good starts for establishing a run-first mentality in scrimmages and practices. From the outside looking in, i have always felt that the Jones and Johnson falling out, has impeded The Cowboy's abilities to get back to the big dance. The three head coaches that were more in the mold of what i consider "strong" head coaches that followed Johnson(Switzer, Parcells, and Phillips) were the ones that "may" have been able to eventually right the ship but for various reasons weren't given the longevity from Jones. I think McCarthy falls somewhere between Johnson, the three i mentioned, and the lesser choices. This is his opportunity to show he is indeed one of the "strong" head coaches, whose leadership and direction leads The Cowboys back to the NFC Championship game. Good luck Cowboys fans! Hopefully we will get back to those awesome Niner vs Cowboys rivalries like the ones i grew up with(starting in the 70's and yes, i watched all of them...😂) It's time for McCarthy to get it done!

This is exactly why Kellen Moore is gone. Everything Scott explained is what Kellen just can't comprehend. Running the football is not in Moore's gameplan he is very pass happy and very predictable and it's frustrating because people swear Kellen is this offensive guru that makes our offense top 5 but he's not. Our offense has been top 5 because of Dak. That's not a popular thing to say out loud but it's the God honest truth and it's been proven twice. The two times Kellen Moores offense didn't feature Dak at QB this offense was ranked outside the top 10 last year at 27th and 2020 the year Dak broke his ankle and the offense finished 17th in the league. Now that's all good in the regular season but come playoff time you have to do what works and not what looks good which is throwing for a bunch of yards and scoring a bunch of points. Running the football is very important in the playoffs and it's key. In fact here's something every cowboy fan don't know but me because I actually do deep researching. But while Dak is 2-4 in the playoffs the two playoff wins he has Dallas ran the ball and Dak was more efficient and consistent and the offense clicked on all cylinders. In all the losses we didn't run the ball or when we did we abandoned it. Say what y'all want but that's not a coincidence regarding our offense in the playoffs. However with Mike McCarthy calling the plays now and Scott at OC who actually understands situational football, using what works and playing to your QBs and offense strengths we will be way better offensively in the playoffs
@CFOSports

Жыл бұрын
@@CFOSports yes he is and everyone knows this but for whatever petty and childish reason they make him out to be the weak link because it sells. And gains clicks and views. But I'm not about the bullshit. Also it's funny how we keep putting everything on Dak and demanding he puts the team on his back and elevate everyone around him and win the game with his arm and when he doesn't we blame him. Meanwhile if anyone actually watched last year's NFC championship game between the eagles and Niners they didn't win that game because of Jalen hurts in fact he played very average. He only had 13 pass attempts 168 yards and 0 TD passes and only 1 rushing TD. However they ran the ball 44 times and beat the niners by 30 points. Why do we stay playing these games? I'm tired of it all. We have a winning formula with Dak and this offense and every year we don't use that formula. Because we the Dallas Cowboys America's team we have to win games thru our QB throwing over 300 to 400 yards and 5 TDs. They treat Dak like he a Madden video game character
@joe-jostar
Жыл бұрын
Nah, defense definitely carried last season. I'm not saying dak is bad, but he definitely needed a kick in the ass for all the missed score opportunities and 15 interceptions. Key point is to get his pass game on lock. And don't be scared to run that ball. Take the blitz and lean on the TE's. Let Ceedee and Gallup do their jobs and get Tolbert on some experience. Keep Micha versatile, and let the DE's work.

And they swear it's Dak that's the problem even tho when we do exactly what Scott is explaining we win with Dak in the playoffs. In Daks two playoff wins we ran the ball and used play action. But Kellen Moore gets in his own way and gets too pass happy and it hurts this offense. Meanwhile I watched the Philadelphia Eagles beat and dominate the Niners by running the football heavily down their throats. Jalen Hurts only had 13 pass attempts that game and didn't even throw a TD and they ran the ball 44 times and beat the niners by 30 points. Philly didn't put the game on Jalen Hurts shoulders yet here we are demanding Dak to put the team in his back. Elevate players around him and take over the game with his arm and win and when he doesn't we have the audacity and the nerve to blame him? Miss me with that bullshit

I've said that Schoonmaker might just be the best pick of the draft. Because of the impact it will have on the offense. His blocking is outstanding. He finds his target, engages quickly, and stays on the block. One critique I do have. He blocks a little too upright. If he can lower the shoulders more, then he'll gain leverage and drive his block better. Something very coachable. Every QB needs that BFF TE. Schoonmaker with his frame and target potential. I see him being that BFF for Dak Prescott. The short and intermediate targets is tailor-made for Dak. Especially in Red-Zone situations. And Schoonmaker's presence will help open the entire offense. Much in the way Witten did for both Romo and Prescott.

You are right that Moore’s offence was the last of the 3 philosophies but, a lot of times Dak misses reads pre and post snap and completely just doesn’t deliver. Now moving forward Dallas OL has had some injuries over the past couple of years and moving guys around. If this happens again and it just might, especially with T. Smith getting hurt often it will be hard to consistently run the football and Dak will have to do more. Dallas I’ll once again have another great reg season and may even win the division and ONCE again it will come down to Dak having to make a crucial drive and or play. Can he do it? I’m quite hesitant seeing how the past two seasons he’s had the opportunity and has missed.

Give him the ball on third and short behind a strong oline and you are going to get through all the time I think. And you have that mixed with your two backs Pollard and the Rookie it's going to be hard to defend. Actually it was the opposite with Kellen .. he would call a good play it works we wouldn’t see it again .. in away this will help us develop an identity

Maybe, that’s one of the Dallas Cowboys’ problems: Converting offensive linemen tackles to offensive linemen guards (even though from a schematic rushing standpoint, it makes sense).

Cowboys better use Schottenheimer's philosophy if they want to have a Superbowl season. Let him do his thing.

With the turnover machine playing qb, I doubt the cowboys will win a lot of games with their offense. From the draft picks you could tell the cowboys will be relying on the defense to win the game or make the game close score for the offense to win it. It's going to be just like Bill parcells when he was with the New York Giants. Controlling the game clock with running game and short passes. It's easier said than done. With Dak as qb I don't have a lot of faith in the team

Such a different vibe. You could smell kellen moore's insecurities a mile away. Happy to be rid of it and now with an offensive strategist who's confident and secure with what they bring to the table....paired with Mccarthy pulling the trigger on the plays in game, which is his biggest comfort

And where will Ronald Jones fit on the Offense? Will he take the Zeke role?

I see Deuce as being far superior to Turpin on return abilities. That might actually push Turpin out. Since Turpine isn't a true WR and Deuce can do more. CD, MG, B. Cooks, Fehoko, Tolbert will probably have the best chance to starting. Malik Davis is superior to Ronald Jones, Pollard needs to warm up for at least a few games possibly, Deuce can become the old Pollard by getting less snaps when explosive plays are needed so he stays fresh.

Let Dak run the ball. Our old coaches use to tell our QBs to stay in the pocket. especially Romo.
