This was a separate television movie from the series. I believe it aired as a CBS movie of the week in 1985 or 86.

It seems to me the writer of this book easily could have gotten most of what he needed from Miss Ellie.

The Premise was that Pam had put Flowers on Digger's Grave and "asked" Miss Ellie what really happened with Jock & Digger back in the day. It kind of reminds me of "Garden Of Shadows" The Prequel to Flowers In The Attic where you see what was life was like in Foxworth Hall 39 Years before the Children were locked away. Barbara Bel Geddes was sick so they did it this way. Boy you see how one series of decisions affect the next generation.

Excluding the oil ranch,, money, There are PROBABLY MANY families across the country if not world that can compare themselves to the family-characters of Dallas. There's probably-definitely a Digger Barnes in every family.

My family could have made a cool movie. It was about marriage, adultery, and divorce like Dallas but set in Joliet, Illinois and the Polish mob. My grandpa and his siblings who dealt with Francis Curry of the mob over there. That was an adventure story along with the Godfather.

I would have loved for Larry McMurty (Lonesome Dove, Brokeback Mountain) would have written a Book. Also talking to Cliff Barnes is a waste of time since he never learned what "really" happened between these two old former friends. Sadly enough on TV and Books we see people find out many years later over what really happened. From Emma Nelson finding out the truth on Degrassi: The Next Generation with her "Real" Father Shane McKay. Dan Connor finding out about what happened with his Mother Audrey being Bipolar before anyone knew what it was even Nick Toscanni blaming blake carrington on dynasty whose brother Johnny killed himself in an Arabian Prison. He was a drug addict.

No, this was a television movie made about the early years of Ewing Oil, and the relationships between Jock Ewing, Digger Barnes, Miss Ellie, and others set when they were young, long before the start of the Dallas TV series in 1978. If my memory is correct it spans roughly from the early 1930's through some time in the 1950's, when J.R., Bobby, Cliff, and Pam were all still kids. The dream season came much later, during the run of the Dallas TV series, I think from 1985 to 1986, or somewhere around there.

Exactly. They met around 1933 on The Boxcar on their way to Texas. However, this wasn't supposed to be the "Original" Prologue. Pam went and placed Flowers on Digger Barnes Grave and went to Miss Ellie and asked her the truth about what really happened that started The Feud in the first place. In future years, shows like Degrassi: The Next Generation, Another World, Guiding Light and even The Old School Roseanne characters find out some hard truths about what really happened as opposed to what "actually" happened.
