yep once kobe missed that wide open game winner in game 1 in 2011 vs dallas...the doubt creeped in and the mavs gained confidence...they didnt play well at all in game 1....and they still got a 1-0 lead...i remember they were down 19 in that game and came back....i thought after the game mavs won but they could have played a whole lot better and i thought the lakers dominated that game and they still lost.....kobrick could have ended the mavs and put la in the finals if he hit that 1 shot...but he didnt...he bricked it and the mavs just played better and better each game....lakers played worse...this game they didnt even want to be out there....thats how you end a dynasty...you blow them out when you have a chance ...same thing in 2003 with horrys miss..in game 6 the spurs just wouldnt let la hang around like they did vs the kings in 2002..no game 7 vs the refs..end it in la.......and if lebron didnt cramp up in game 1 in 2014 miami goes home for game 3 and 4 up 2-0...series over......the heat were leading until he left and then in the 4th the spurs went off...hitting 3's and making everything...they didnt let it come down to 2 plays....they took the game when they had it to make sure they went to miami 1-1.......if they had to win 2 in miami down 2-0 no way they win that series....sometimes when luck happens you have to take advantage of it cause if you play around your gonna lose...aka the suns in 93 and the jazz in 98...that 3rd title team is always the weakest

Really bred for championship.

I like how instead of trying to fight Bynum and get players ejected after his dirty shot to Barea, the Mavs just proceeded to beat the brakes off the Lakers for the full 48 minutes. 2011 Mavs is my favorite team in nba history. The chemistry and grit this team had is unparalleled. Every one on the team contributed. Barea, Peja, Stevenson and even Cardinal. This is aside from the starting 5 + Terry. Just a magnificent team that meshed so well together.

I come back to this video from time to time over the years. I remember that season well. I remember telling my friend Jay, may he rest in peace, before the season started that Dallas had assembled the best collection of three-point shooters in the history of the game (at that time) and with the addition of Tyson Chandler that the Mavs was going to win the championship. I wasn't speaking with hyperbole, I was supremely confident in their playing ability and Rick Carlisle's coaching ability.

Also the very next year we lost Tyson Chandler to the Knicks and JJ Barea to the Timberwolves both of whom we wouldn't have the title without. Also, Bynum and Lamar showed a lot of class in this game trying to take out our players; just a fantastic way to show sportsmanship!
