Very good review -- I appreciate timegrapher shots, especially in more than one position!

Just picked up a DS30 a couple of days ago. It's a well made watch. So far quite accurate as well.

How do you still like the watch? Is it just as accurate as when you first got it?

I have DK30. Build quality is terrific especially if you get it with the bracelet. The endlinks fitment is perfect and flush as if the watch and bracelet were made from the same block of steel. The finish is very unique with rich lustre, it’s not polished, not brushed and not quite blasted. It’s kind of combination of all those. I recommend it with the bracelet. Once you have it with the bracelet, anything else will not feel right. This Damasko is way above any of Sinn 556, Laco Augsburg or Atticus Icarus.

i don’t understand people complaining about the price of the bracelet for this watch while also comparing it to a Sinn 556i. These watches on bracelet cost about the same all in but everyone acknowledges the superior tech of the Damasko.

Hands down one of the best legibility dials around. Absolutely love this color combination and design!

Clean. If I could pick on anything, it would be: (1) With the date so small you have to use a magnifying glass to see it, I would rather not have it. (2) I would prefer cardinal indices (3, 6, 9) to be stronger than others.

the in-house movement version (DK30) comes without the date window, and it does look cleaner.

Damasko make some wonderful watches. I wasn’t originally keen on the DS30, but in this colour way, it looks superb. The minimalism really appeals to me, I consider the Sinn 556i as a direct competitor, but this one has better specs. Truly a one watch collection watch for life. I think one day I’ll get one and sell the rest. I have a 7.5 inch wrist, but I’d love to try one on, as I think it will still work, whereas the Sinn won’t. for me, the only disappointment is the lume. Im used to Seiko. A really good concise review that tells us everything about it.
@JustWatches1

Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for watching. Yes, I wish this had Seiko level lume - with that, I think it is a perfect one watch that does it all! I still need to get my hands on a Sinn to compare, but the Damasko feels so incredibly high quality in the hand.

i just picked up a dk32 and the lume is ok, however i charge before bed with a uv light. when waking up briefly during the night surprisingly the lume on the hands was legible through the night

Looks like an older model? Compared to my da36, this has weaker ar, stronger lume, and is much lighter and more comfortable. Yes, new straps are quick release. And, that orange 🍊 hand pops against a blue dial!

Yes, that is my guess, I borrowed it from a friend, not sure when they got it. Also, I don't know if they sell one with an orange hand anymore.

@@JustWatches1 I just bought a new DS30 with blue dial and orange hand. Loving it this summer. Best part, it is the thinnest automatic watch I have at 10mm. Looking forward to your SBGN003 review (guess you gotta mention that its been superseded by a new model this week).

Last year I was looking for a tough German everyday watch and selected the Damasko DS30 over the Muhle Glashutte SAR timer, I really liked this one but too big, the Archimede Outdoor, difficult to reject this one too and the Sinn 556 which had a nice dial but the Damasko on a strap was much better value with the hardened submarine steel case and the great crown tech, it's also proven to be very accurate at +4spd.

I like you have been tossing up between those watches. Have been looking for a no nonsense, ultra tough, mechanical, every day tool watch and this watch is ticking all those boxes. Trouble is I am now wanting to get their in-house movement along with their bracelet, even though I have never been a bracelet fan. Its the sort of watch I would like to pass on to a family member once I have gone. Oh well, I better keep saving.

No. The rust issue applies only to their ice hardened steel bracelets and cases, which are slowly being phased out. Submarine steel on the other hand is extremely anticorrosive.

Every black or brown leather strap looks very good at this watch. And if you want a bracelet, pls don't get just any bracelet (no matter if brushed 316L or titanium), they will never fit. The original bracelet is not cheap, but it's hardened steel and you will enjoy it scratch-free for decades
