Also the big difference between South Africa and these other countries is that, people who don’t watch Rugby or sport in general support the Springboks. The Springboks are like an army fighting for the nation and everyone is cheering them on. Whereas in other countries, the vast majority of the national team support comes from Rugby Supporters.

The emotion in Dan Biggars' face when speaking about "wanting it more". I now understand why he kaaked George North like that in the world cup. Dan wanted it more and he didn't think George did.

That’s why it’s so sad WR continues to disadvantage SA by outlawing their best strategies. It’s a disgrace - the Springboks are the most pure national team with players helping almost every nation - for the good of rugby.

Just pushes us to keep coming up with more 😂 we accept the challenge, especially with Rassie at the reigns you can add or change any law you want he’ll find a way to turn it against you. For example the scrum free kick, can’t take another scrum ? Fine, here pollard pin that ball in the corner now we feel like mauling

I live in Germany, and rugby is rooted in our blood. We demolished apartheid to play against the All Blacks. I remember a Volksfront member telling me we are more concerned about rugby than our country's politics. He wasn't pleased about the yes vote. And then the 95 World Cup - it is still fresh in my mind how it bonded the country together. And still today, rugby has its healing power over South Africa

Look in the end, there’s no place to hide in a team like this, especially with RASSIE as the coach He brings out this angry side from the players but also directs it into one direction which is to win! There’s a special environment in that camp

Players came to this realisation through the Springbok management. We can't just look towards the players. They endorsed what is carried over as a belief process. in short, it is faith in the team, in themselves, in management, purposefully NOT to disappoint our nation.

Howzit bru, lekka video. Only partially disagree on one point - SA and NZ are the two countries where I think it means more. In both countries the week after a national team loss a big part of the population is heavy depressed - if you are mates with any kiwis you’ll already know this. That reason for it meaning more is one of the big reasons for us winning a combined 78% of RWCs since inception. I will say though that while it means more to both - things are more desperate in SA and people need more of a reason to hope - so it’s just an extra level to it meaning more, and in something like an RWC final - that can mean that one point over your opposition. 7:36

There is no secret sauce. Go out to any big rugby school in the country and you will see the blueprint. We are just better than everybody else. If PSDT suddenly retired, you'd be able to go to any of the franchises and pick his successor. He might not be as good immediately, but eventually he will measure up. Seriously, look at the loosies in each of the URC franchises.

It’s about pride and what the jearsey means to you and it starts there. If you play for Grey whatever number you wear in the 1st team from 1-23 someone important wore that jearsey. You now hold their legacy and you can’t let it down. At springbok level it’s the same as you think of those guys in 95 and what each of them did for the country and how they united the people. Deep down you feel you have to uphold that legacy you not allowed to fumble and that drives you. Add to the fact SA has a lot of its own problems and rugby is how people escape that reality. When you wear that jearsey in a World Cup you think about that kid in the town ship, a kid like Siya who was given nothing and is told he has no future. When that kid sees you push beyond the limits and lift that cup, you essentially telling that kid that he does have a future and he can have hope. If just 1/10 kids get that hope and keep pushing then they make it out slowly and surely you allowing more and more to do the same. When you have a player like Siya who went from growing up in a township and not have boots to play, to being the first black captain and lifting that cup not once but twice in a row. That’s special and each and every member of that team is the same because they needed each other to achieve this.

It’s also important to notice how the only try scorers against NZ were New Zealanders. Ireland will just have to keep siphoning New Zealand and Australian and South African rejects if they want to keep on being “the best rugby team in the world”.
