A decade late- for those that are curious, Dan sampled extensively in this song taking from the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra's cover of the main theme of 1984's Starman which he then mixed with his previous single "HYPNTZ" which sampled the drum beat from Rihanna's "Umbrella" and used lyrics from The Notorious B.I.G's "Hypnotize" (Though those lyrics were later changed due to copyright issues). This song is an amalgamation of several decades of music, movies and media, and I for one love it.

The drum beat is not sampled from Rihanna, rather the two songs share the same source: Garageband. This is a royalty free drum loop from the software, the loop is called "Vintage Funk Kit 03". www.whosampled.com/sample/78624/Dan-Black-Symphonies-Apple-Inc.-Vintage-Funk-Kit-03/

I know Cudi is only a feature on this track, but he’s a great genre bender. Often taking rock/other genres and combining them to make something dope. The sample from Mojo So Dope is a great example. The original isn’t something I’d listen to normally, but that “God I thought I loved you so, oh oh oh” makes the song

I remember playing nba 2k11 for hours in the afternoon and evening during the whole summer 9 years before listening to this song. I was picking Miami Heat just for Dwyane Wade. Used to make him 99 overall and dominate all the teams. Making every shot with him, passing him the ball all the time. Same thing with Jordan in Chicago Bulls. And after playing that game I'd watch some KZitem videos of him and then go to the park and play basketball with my friends. Shooting like DWade, pretending I'm him. Sometimes impersonating MJ. I was hoping I'll grow up one day and play in the NBA like them. Maybe dunk the rim too. We then, went to live somewhere else. 9 years later and after all these somehow, I'm finding myself here in the same room during the Covid 19 listening to this song. Of course I never made it. Never touched the rim. I can't describe how I'm feeling right now. Deja Vu? Nostalgia? Sadness? I don't know...

Symphonies Lyric / Letra: Kid Cudi: Hey Mami... Hmmmmmuaaahhhh Yeah. ChhChhh Mnnah nah nah let's go Cudder Hmmmmmuaaahhhh Yeah, I'm here, Super duper dooder-cud, All up in the mix like yeah, What! I stay blazed like brodies, Even if I never said it you should prolly know this by now. Ta-Dow, what they go and make up, Every time I read about stupid sh*t they make up, If I ever saw them, black dynamite 'em, Then they have a reason to say why they never like him. Dan Black: The lights of a car go by in a stream Seems like I stand pretty much unseen But I open my eyes and beams come out. Gimme, gimme, symphonies Gimme more than the life I see Score adds up Angels play Let my lonliness get blown away Gimme, gimme, symphonies Gimme more than the life I see. I lie down in the dust just under your eye A scrap of paper, thin as vapour Filling my clothes like smoke A couple of the wires in my heart are broke I throw, I miss, something, nothing but Dreams, schemes, moments wasted Taste that tasted Fate I'm fated Re-edited again then copy, pasted as... The lights of a car go by in a stream Seems like I stand pretty much unseen But I open my eyes and beams come out Gimme, gimme, symphonies Gimme more than the life I see Score adds up Angels play Let my lonliness get blown away Gimme, gimme, symphonies Gimme more than the life I see. You know. Kid Cudi: I live, I live, I live, I live for symphonies. I know that there's some place just right for me. I live, I live, I live, I live for symphonies. Oooohh, I know that there's some place just right for me. Yeah. I'm in it, aint no need to seek it. I am content, Dream like content. So unconscious, just me and my conscious. I'm runnin with the mobb things, lookin to do odd things. Dan Black: Gimme, gimme, symphonies Gimme more than the life I see Score adds up Angels play Let my lonliness get blown away Gimme, gimme, symphonies Gimme more than the life I see. Why didn't this song blow up? It's the best pop song I've heard in the last decade!

Because no one likes songs with meaning anymore....😕 only pop crap that's catchy and talks about bullshit.

My mom used to play this for me when I was about 5, now I’m 18 and I graduated in a month and half and I’ve been listening to this whole album for the last 2 weeks just reliving my childhood :)

Wow. 2010. I was born 2005 and I turned 6 before this song came out but, I found it now I’m 12. I remembered crying hearing this song every time it came on because it reminded me of my grandpa (who passed away) so when I heard the song today my heart broke and I started crying. It still gets to me. A few years pass and it still gets me
