Ahh awesome, its great that some of us remember the actual comic strip - I think its time we had a feature length movie for this character. I mean... we had Flash Gordon! A Dan Dare movie could potentially be epic 😇🕹️👌

About 33 years after the US version of “Seamonsters” album by The Wedding Present was released, I finally understand where the title of the track “Dan Dare” comes from (it’s just a short instrumental that’s related to an earlier track “Dare”, so the name made _some_ sense, but now the whole thing clicks).

Some of the comic tie-ins are absolutely brilliant on the Commodore 64 and Amiga 😺👍🕹️. And of all three DAN DARE games on the Commodore 64 and Amiga, this is absolutely the best 😺👍🕹️. The sequels... meh 😹...

I like that the scenes, at least on the C64 version, look like pages of a comic book. Nicely done! You can definitely tell that a lot of time and effort went into it.

@@CheekyCommodoreGamerAh yes, the old pumping the air and yelling "YEAH!" trick. Been there many times! I wonder why the C64 version is so much different than the others? It may be that the C64 version, created to its fullest by some independent programmer, was done first and the publisher liked it so much that they decided to have ports commissioned for the Spectrum and CPC. But they were pressed for time (as they frequently were back then) so they had to go a more straight-forward route. Or, it could be that multiple teams were told to make a Dan Dare game and go to it. From what I understand the Spectrum and CPC have similar hardware so that made that conversion fairly easy. Anyway, I checked wikipedia for the answer and it didn't say why they're so different.
