Just got this new Dan Henry 1975 "Skindiver" this week! For those who don't know, Dan Henry is a famous watch collector and watch enthusiast who has such a large collection of vintage watches that he's put pics and vids on the internet as a timeline of watch development through the years.
His passion for vintage watches led him to start his own microbrand watch company, focusing on small batches of vintage inspired pieces, usually a blend of vintage watch styles and themes of a given year. For example, I also have a Dan Henry 1970 which is a "Compressor" style diver as that was a popular design in 1970. It's not a homage, but rather a design inspired by the styles of the time with its own vibe.
This watch, made in China as all his watches are (but with awesome quality control!), is in the style of a 1975 diver. It's offered in four color combos, two sizes (37mm and 39mm), two bezel treatments, and automatic or quartz movements, allowing two pricing levels. Either way, it's an affordable watch.
How does it wear, how does it look, how does it stack up? To find out, you'll have to Watch It!
