@@christina5kids16grands I totally agree with you there is absolutely no argument about it but poor disenfranchised people need to stop taking murder jobs from affluent people who can simply hide behind their wealth and standing in the community while the poor person with ties to criminals take the fall! I have seen so so so many of these true crime stories about rich people intentionally shopping for non white poor people in need of money! They aren't asking people of their same ilk to kill their spouses they are asking people whom they know if they were caught that a savvy defense attorney could use their background vs the rich affluent and salt of the Earth name the rich person has going for himself. If rich scum need to have somebody they hate killed then the rich scum needs to do it themselves or find one of his affluent friends to do it. Rich people looking to murder someone know exactly where to go to find someone. We cannot continuous allow stupid poor people who accept murder jobs off because they aren't the big fish. We need to stop defending them I know damn well if I accept a job to murder someone for a six figure payout that I would be the only one going down because the rich person is gonna have an alibi far far away from me because I am the one who set it up and my prints are everywhere not the rich persons therefore I would never ever accept such a diabolical assignment! If you already know how unfair unjust and twisted this world is then how in the world would you kill somebody for a rich person that you know will get off as you go straight to hell. Perhaps if people start seeing exactly what happens when they kill affluent people for affluent people maybe that might stop them from taking murder assignments from rich people who are benefitting from their White and wealthy privilege. Lock the little guys up for life and then we might just start seeing a decline in poor people accepting these assignments and a rise in more rich people doing it themselves and going to prison!

I know it was infuriating! At first, I felt exactly as you described. It was the most ridiculous direct I’ve ever heard! (Out of 1000’s) But, eventually I realized the prosecutor’s strategy. It’s 2 fold. 1) All trial attnys have to be careful w/objections. It’s a fine line. Juries get irritated w/attnys that constantly object. They often think the party is trying to hide something, even when the objections are valid. 2) In KM’s 1st trial, the same attny used the same tactic. She had to ask leading questions to get the right answer. The state knew it was going to be 10X worse in this trial bc its yrs later. The state sat back, methodically planned their cross, knowing that without leading questions, Katie would be screwed. As frustrating as the direct was to watch, the cross was fabulous. It was honestly a brilliant strategy! They didn’t piss the jury off, it allowed Katie to gain a little confidence by being spoon fed & then they came in & completely obliterated her! (One of my favs was the collecting rent question early on) By the time cross was done, Katie’s credibility was in the negative.

She is not sorry, and has no insight that she had a innocent man murdered, took him away from his children, and own family. That is evil. She will now serve longer than the two men who pulled the trigger.

Stupidest woman on Earth! Offered full immunity to testify against the Adelsons turns it down allows her attorneys who's only interest they had in mind were their own to convince her she would be acquitted so don't accept immunity and believing that statement even though she is listening clearly to a tape of CA talking about the blackmailer who approached his mother going over different theories of who he might be the police or a family member of the person she hired to kill DM, even after hearing clearly on tape CA demanding she kill the would be hitman, she has absolutely no defense and is too weak to tell the defense and the Adelsons to kiss her ass and crawl on her knees over to to the Prosecution and tell everything she knows, she showed no loyalty to SG who was suppose to be her husband only to the Adelsons. She was obsessed with CA and that life the best thing she could have done was turn on them get police protection ask the Markels for forgiveness and don't ever again get wrapped up in something this evil. Her stupidity was so blatant that she is listening to CA trying to put a hit on the would be blackmailer and never once thought about he might have her killed? She was playing with fire getting mad because he dropped her like garbage in the trash can after he got what he wanted then she reminds him of what she did for him which was a move that could have ended her life. SG was garbage but he loved her CA used her then dropped her and had they not been arrested would have had her killed. She put SG and LR in this and to get out of it she exploited their backgrounds if she was really a decent woman she should have been encouraging him to do the right thing or leave him not get him into worse trouble then cry "I don't have a record and I hate drugs SG and LR are criminals not me" SG loved her he forbid his lawyer from saying it was KM's fault even though she had no problem implicating him" He was willing to testify and lie that KM had nothing to do with what took place he did it with CA he had redeemable qualities she doesn't!

She didn't plan anythingon taking the stand. Sigfriedo was going to lie for her, testify on her behalf and support the defense opening statement that he dealt with Charlie Adelson directly behind Katie's back and that Katie wasn't part of the conspiracy. But instead of speaking to Sigfriedo in person, Katie's lawyer called him by phone when he arrives at the Leon county jail in prep for his court appearance. Those calls are all recorded. The call revealed that Defense atty Kawass discuss the false story that Sigfriedo was going to testify to. So Tara Kawass got caught by the prosecution. The judge ruled that if Kawass proceeded to put Sigfriedo on the stand, then the State is allowed to present the recorded phone call as evidence to impeach. So the judge sealed the evidence file of the recording. And Tara Kawass couldn't proceed with putting Sigfriedo on the stand. Basically their case was blown. So, Katie had to get on the stand with probably very little preparation. Oh well. God works in mysterious ways.

Her lawyers didn't prepare her for cross-examination because there was no plan to put her on the stand. The defenses so called jaw dropping evidence of KM's innocence was set in place before KM testified they transported SG from prison to the local jail where he was waiting to testify that KM had no idea that he had accepted a hit man position from CA. KM is totally innocent and he SG arranged this devilish clandestine meeting with CA. KM had absolutely no knowledge of the plan. They were all set to go that morning with their at least they believed "Bombshell testimony" except the plan was cooked up on an inmate telephone which is monitored and listened to twenty four hours a day and the prosecution got a hold of the call featuring attorney Kawaas and KM making it all up on tape. Kawass tried to get it thrown out claiming it was protected by attorney client privilege. The Judge advised the defense that those phone calls are monitored and made known to any party engaging in conversations on prison lines are subject to monitoring so if the defense called SG to testify that KM knew nothing about this murder plot then the prosecution had every right to play a copy of the jailhouse call in which Tara Kawaas and KM were making up the story of calling SG to the stand to lie for KM. Because their only defense had been thwarted by the defenses expensive lackadaisical way of meeting with their client to discuss a strategy they had to find something else to do because had they done what they planned on doing the prosecution would play a tape of them flat out lying to the jury to defend KM.

Yes! That exactly right! "If I say 'I don't know,' or 'I don't remember,' it's not true." As if the facts before everyone's own eyes go away if SHE doesn't remember.

YEP! She was hired as his personal assistant but doesn’t “recall” any general daily duties. So glad the jury saw through her web of lies.

I love hearing the state attorney questioning her, because she actually asked questions. Her own attorney lead her wayyyyy too much. She testified basically for her ..it was you did this or that didn't you ? It was her attorney explaining, and she would reply " yes mam"

Putting her on the stand sealed the Adelson family's fate. They can no longer buy her silence. The DA owns her now. She'll talk.

Did anyone else catch when she LIED then immediately LAUGHED on the stand telling Charlie she went in on the weekend to clean the office when she really didn't? She literally blew her credibility there too! She thinks it was funny to lie to him about work she got paid for but didn't do! She's a screwball for sure.

Oh yes she did that twice and thought it was so cute to say she lied to him. She also showed true colors when asked about where the money Garcia gave her came from. She did a toothy smile and said, "I didn't care"

Because she didn't understand how conspiracy works. She thought because the didn't pull the trigger. She didn't realize if you have any part of the crime, they can charge you the same as person doing the killing.

Her team prob advised her that she had a chance for an acquittal and that she could work out a deal with the prosecution after, if she is convicted. I bet her lawyers have some sort of connections with the Adelsons so they really didn't want her to cooperate with the prosecution.
