To me this song isn't just about substance abuse. For me it makes me think about someone that I once loved and how hard it is to move on. Just like being hooked on drugs, sometimes people can be just as addicting.

In my opinion you aren't missing anything by not drinking. I admire your choice not to drink due to family history of alcoholism.. I have heard that it can run in families.

We all have a little bit of an addiction to something in our life. For some people the drama that comes with their addiction becomes so normal that when that drama goes away they don't know what to do. They don't know how to deal with the normalcy of life. Because when you're drinking or doing drugs, you don't have to. That's why so many people go back and it is such a struggle.

I applaud you for never drinking or smoking. It takes very strong people to do so. I also grew up in an alcoholic/addictive family. I personally couldn't handle it and started drinking my parents liquor when I was 13. I also know that the water bottle thing is absolutely accurate, I was friends with this girl who had a bad problem in high school, she would fill snapple bottles with whiskey and drink at school. This song hits hard for me personally and in relation to most of my family members.

As a recovering alcoholic, I relate to this song so hard. It’s like how not to keep drinking when it just consumes your life and being drunk is all you want to do. It just speaks to me

It kinds makes sense about needing the drama in your life. It has a lot to do with your age. Teens seem to need it. It makes life exciting and 'meaningful.' If there is no 'drama' then you're not alive. It'll make more sense when you get a little older, Billy. Love the videos, keep them coming.

If your thinking about substance abuse it starts to be the metaphorical relationship they have with the substance and how they don't know how to stop taking it and how to not miss it when it's gone. They don't know how not to still want it even when they know they shouldn't have it anymore, even when they want it to be over.

I drink occasionally (holidays and birthday), and usually 1 or 2 drinks. I have never used drugs, I saw what a 10yr addiction to crack did to my mother (she has 26yrs sober now). I swore I would never follow her footsteps, and I haven't.
