Danny Spivey on Mike Blackwell Jobber Beating Incident
Former WWE, WCW and All Japan Pro Wrestling Star Danny Spivey aka Waylon Mercy talks about a 8/5/89 NWA World Wide Wrestling match where he and his "Skyscrapers" team mate Sid Vicious faced enhancement talent Avalanch & Mike Blackwell. The match is significant because Mike Blackwell did not only appear not to know how to wrestle at all but also no-sold all of the big moves Spivey and Said did to him, even accidentally knocking Sid down on a clothline attempt. It is clear as the short match progressed that Sid and Spivey became more frustrated with Spivey even kicking him in the head from the apron when the jobber is no selling the finish on the outside after the match. Spivey said they were able to get some revenge in the back but shockingly the taped match made air with apparently none of the match screw ups edited out by production before making it public!
