If I’m not mistaken, this song is about depression and suicide. Dan has lost a few friends to suicide and he himself suffered from depression. He also loss his father a short time before he recorded this video so I think this song resonated with him. Thank you for your reaction.

Thank you for the overview. I got the sense that it meant a lot to him so this explains it perfectly. ❤️

Yes it is and about finding a journey out. He talks about it freely. Many identify with him and as a survivor also, being able to speak of it openly helps to change the stigma. The disease does not identify who you are! TY for recognizing the intent of this song and speaking of it!

It's heavy but the lyrics also communicate triumph over the pain and thanking the angels for leading him out of that pain. His tears make me think of catharsis more than sadness. It's a beautiful song and a beautiful performance.

He just lives every song as he sings it. He did state once that not every tear is a tear of sadness; sometimes it is joy or triumph. I have no idea how anyone can sing like that with tears; how does he avoid a clogged throat? Just amazing. He certainly leaves no doubt that the song has deep meaning for him.

Dan was feeling every word, it was not an act! Can you sing with such feeling even half that well? I don’t think so, he’s the real deal and dealing with his own personal losses. He deserves great respect and he has that respect from many including myself!

@@KanekiKojo please, add one more, Heart of Steel, in the beginning he talks to the viewers about depression (use subtitles). His words and the song are incredible, you’ll like it.
