One time paramour and close friend of David Bowie, English actress, singer and songwriter Dana Gillespie cut this song in 1969 when she was 20. The title seems oddly prophetic now but of course it must be a coincidence. Is The David in the song even him? Guitars on here are probably Jimmy Page.
Dana later sang with Bowie as part of an In Concert kinda Bowie Cabaret Revue in 1971 for the BBC, compered by John Peel, sadly not released by them to date. Apparently they lost the master tapes. You can find Andy Warhol by Dana & David on KZitem so someone has the tapes somewhere.
She also sang backing vocals on It Ain't Easy on the Ziggy Stardust LP. Bowie & Mick Ronson produced 2 tracks in 1973 for her Weren't Born A Man LP.
