Focus on feeling good and your connection and dance will improve. Definitely a valuable lesson and something I can spend more time on. Sometimes I have difficulty focusing on the music, the leading and feeling/connection all at the same time. Curious if you have any tips/advice on that?

Things tend to come more naturally with practice and when we become confident enough in doing them. One of the best things to do is become a master of the basics. Once you have mastered the basics, it makes the rest a lot easier. Maybe practising the steps as slow as you need to before focusing too much on the music would be best (even practising without music if necessary). Multitasking in the learning process tends to lead to mediocrity, focus on one thing then add more when you're ready. Then you can speed up and try to keep up with the music and after that leading and feeling/connection will probably be a lot easier. Much like when driving, new drivers tend to take longer to process everything that's happening on the road but after they gain more experience, the whole process starts feels automatic. Don't rush yourself. Become a master of the basics first, this will give you a solid foundation to build upon. With experience and practice, we tend to become more confident which will help you feel the dance, feel good, feel the music and the connection.
