Play along starts at 00:52. Y'all - for those of you who are struggling to "keep up"... Set your playback speed to a slower pace and work on keeping up with it that way. Once you can keep up, set it to the next higher speed. Keep going till you're at "normal". (See the wheel on the lower right of the video, next to the CC box.) This little idea has saved my life and I have learned soooo many more songs this way - not to mention, I've learned how to play so much faster as a whole because I set the playback speed to a level I can handle and then I move up as I get better.

One of my all-time favorite songs too, Terry! Idk what year it came out, but I was 11-13 years old when I first heard it. This song "does it" for me, and I just CAN'T SIT STILL when it's playing!! "Dance with Me" has the same effect on me. Songs like these are "magical" and they tend to nourish the soul. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Your voice is high pitched and clear. I must say, you look so cute dancing in your bare feet. I like that you made your video a tutorial, but also just fun to watch and entertaining. I also watched your "Brown Eyed Girl" video even though I own a Kala Ka-Bem and a Johnson Baritone ukulele. I have some experience with classical guitar and I own a handmade Strum Stick, but it only has 3 strings and I like finger picking patterns, so the ukulele was perfect. But I can play the proper chords (Have to write it down) and use your music which I like for the arrangement and strum patterns.

Cynthia, you always brighten my day! What concert Ukulele under $250 is easiest on your chord finger tips? Play action. I’ve developed callouses but still can’t seem to grip and apply enough pressure. My hands are 56 years old, probably not as dexterous as younger people. I have an old Excel Saprano (30 years) and a newer Concert Cordoba15cm. Not thrilled with either one so looking for something different. Anyone have any recommendations?

A well setup one! A dealer like Mims Ukes who lowers the action is a life saver on fingers. Also try softer strings. I prefer Worth Browns myself

YAS!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE how you show us the chords we will be using for this song!! I picked up the ukulele pretty quickly because I grew up studying classical piano from kindergarten through college so I went through the basics pretty quickly. Where I really needed the most was just in playing along with various videos and trying to keep up. I am actually on your Patreon but I follow along here more... I did your beginner lessons and I am still working through some of the last ones but the thing that has helped me most is to finish off my time by going to one of your songs and playing along while trying to keep up. I'm getting better and better each night and man oh man has it been an awful lot of fun!! THANK YOU for doing these for us and thank you the most for putting the chords in there (along with the correct fingering)!! As a classical pianist, I know full well how important that correct fingering can be and I don't want to learn bad habits that I may have to break later so thank you sooo much!! Any chance you'll put together a playlist of songs that starts with the easiest and ends with the hardest? I would sure love to have something like that to follow and play along on each night.

Hi Cynthia. This is a great play along tutorial for one of my all time favorite songs. I am playing alone with a guitar. The more simplify chord naming for songs based on the Ukulele makes it easier for me to play at this stage of my playing level on the guitar. In other words no 9, 11, ... extension, but the song still sound rich and very colorful. Thanks.

I really like your style Cynthia (honest), but I am pretty sure that in this key the chords are: Am D G Cmaj7. It sounds right when played on guitar. The maj7 helps resolve the four chord loop in an interesting way. Anyway I am throwing this suggestion into the ring to experiment with. It’s a one finger chord on the uke so easy to transition from G.
