Even though I'm a weeb I love Japan for it's Culture and Traditions not just anime
@AdmCornFlake

yes, that is, in fact, what a weeb is.
@den_ryuko7698

@@AdmCornFlake Actually, 'weeb' is over glorification of japan which is often fueled by idylic views that don't actually represent japanese culture, appreciating culture is not 'weeb', calling everyone who likes an aspect of japan 'weeb' is just insulting and puts people off actually researching and getting involved with the culture, you don't go round labelling and insulting everyone who researches other cultures, don't do it for japanese culture either.
@AdmCornFlake

@@den_ryuko7698 Perhaps I'm nitpicking about semantics, but the original comment is suggesting an idyllic view. If instead they said "I love the culture and traditions in Japan" instead of "I love Japan for ...", then I probably would not have made the comment. I too find the traditions and folklore of Japan exceptionally beautiful. There certainly is an intrinsic beauty to them. While I love many aspects of the culture, I am absolutely turned off by many of the backwards beliefs such as the near inhumane work hours, homophobia, etc. that remain persistent in modern Japanese culture. Loving an entire culture because of a few aspects certainly puts it into an idyllic light, however, maybe it was just poor phrasing.

I'm currently taking a Humanities class and decided that I wanted to analyze a cultural object, which I wanted to do on a shinto dance performance. I am looking for more information on the symbolism of these dances. I think I would analyze this dance. Does anyone have any more information on this particular dance? More information on this dance or anything that will help my research. Thanks so much in advance!

There are many types of Kagura dances: each town/village has a unique Kagura. Nanami performed one of them. Her hometown is Kawagoe in Saitama. I assume she followed Kawagoe's way. BTW, Kawagoe is a lovely town: kzitem.info/news/bejne/pIyJnGeCh2iLpXo
