There are two different species of Sifaka in this video. The first 2 minutes 20 seconds of the video shows the Coquerel's Sifaka, taken in and around the Anjajavy Hotel and Private Reserve. And the remainder of the video shows the Verreaux's Sifaka from the spiny forests of southern Madagascar around the village of Ifotaka along the Mandrare River.
Both of these lemurs move in a series of two-footed hops with their arms thrown out to the sides for balance. However, the Verreaux's sifaka bounds sideways and crosses its legs one in front of the other, whereas the Coquerel's sifaka bounds forward, almost like a kangaroo.
Both of these species of Sifaka are critically endangered - they're amazing creatures - please protect them.
