how do you get the latex out of the dandelion root tho? you really are clueless about this. ould leave and take the dirt off the root ffs... just because you pulled it out of the garden doesn't mean you should leave dirt on it, you wouldn't leave dirt on a carrot you intend to consume.

Miladin Ercegovcevic Yes. They're the same species of yeast - Saccharomyces cerevisiae - but they're different strains which have different properties. Generally, if you try to brew a beer with baker's yeast, it will tend to come out tasting quite strongly of yeast. There are yeast strains that have been bred for all sorts of specific purposes - wines, cider, ales, and of course bread. I'm somewhat surprised that they used baker's yeast over something like an ale yeast, but it seems to have worked out.

I've used baker's yeast to make wine many times. The results are fine. Most fancy strains of wine etc yeasts have been selected partly for a higher tolerance to alcohol and a quick finish to the fermentation but, if you're not in a hurry for your wine to clear and you're happy with a lower alcohol content, baker's yeast is OK for most brewing purposes.

I've brewed homemade wine many times with great success and love it but have nevr tried a beer before! Would love to try this recipe but how do you get the fizz ... does that happen naturally after bottling??

they add a small amount of sugars right before bottling, and what yeast are left at bottling will ferment the sugars releasing co2 and carbonating it

You guys really need to learn how to make good beer first then this will improve your beer... ;) like... don’t use bakers yeast, lol use a quality beer yeast, don’t use sugar, use malt, 2 weeks is not long enough to age any beer, more like 2 months...

their are non alcoholic varieties , mainly in a soda form some are generic taste wise while some are pretty good like "Fentimans"

Actually, it is a little known fact that the temperance movement caused health problems because beer was safer to drink than many sources of water and beer was the main source of B vitamins for the poor.

I've made a soft drink dandelion. Burdock being hard to find here now and the one place I did fid it has now had the diggers in. I made the dandelion with lacto ferment from ginger beer. It has a taste akin to Ice Cream Soda.
