Hi George, great vidio, I have a Danfoss 720 for CH and Water. Probably something simple but I can't get my hot water settings onto my programmer. It decided to stop working last night and your vidio clearly showed how to reset CH but not the water. Please can you tell me what I am not doing ?? Thanks Peter

Hi Peter, some controls firms are making setting up the HW timings a bit difficult because the default setting is OK for 99% of us. As the HW side is a lot cheaper than the CH it make sense to control that side with better room stats TRVs etc. As long as the cylinder stat is 60c 1/3 off the floor and there is always HW at the taps all is well. Most combi users have CH 247just use the room stat which is the lowest running cost so the same is HW. Thanks for asking. You always you can reset the lot by pressing the reset button or remove the batteries and start again, I would just leave it and make the CH lean & mean, regards, George Staszak 😃
@mrcombiBedford

Hi Peter, nothing, as per other replies, leave the HW to default setting, to get there press the re-set button and just programme the CH, life is too short. The lowest cost CH is 18c then if you have a newish digital room stat +2c then the CH will be 18c +2c (22) will be 20c there are all at least 2c below. An old analog 240v will be at least 4c out hence high cost and in a HALL even higher. Hope that helps, George Staszak I will make a video next month.

Many thanks for your video, we just had this boiler installed in July and the installer set it up. We wanted to change the timer program but trying to read the instructions was a bit of a nightmare. Your video is excellent and so easy to follow, but when changing P102 to P101 thinking that it would keep the same setting for the 7 days, it only showed Mon and not the 7 days. Not sure if it was supposed to, but to be on the safe side I went and changed it back to P102 and did Sat Sun the same times as the week days. Many thanks from Scotland 🏴

Excellent video. I replaced a Randall 102 timer with the FP720 with your help. Only thing I’m not clear about is the difference when you have the extra terminals. I assume no loop from live to common is required as it seems to work…my hot water and rads are on the two separate switched lives and it works. Well, sort of…the rads seem to ignore whatever I set the thermostat to, so they never turn off! What might I have done wrong?

Dear B E, Thanks for the question, Danfoss in common with other firms do not want the HW mode changing once it's set up in default mode because it may not suit others having not enough HW. The cylinder stat at 60C from 07.00 to 23.00 is a very popular setting. In CH mode again most put on 247 and just turn ON the stat when cold (that's the cheapest way) 18-22C in the lounge, if in the hall you will have to experiment by another thermostat in the lounge to adjust the difference. Hope this helps, regards

Hi Tracy, as most 2 channel programmer the heating need most control because it's over 80% of your fuel bill, HW is normally on auto or constant because only when the cylinder stat calls the boiler fires up to recover in about 20 minuets where as heating is on for 6+ hours per day for 4+ months. A lot of people set the room stat to18C - 20C then turn it up if cold or 16 - 17C if too hot, when going out or over night 16C. Only heat when home Hope this helps george staszak Mr Combi Training

Hi Tracy, we love questions and helping, been doing that for 18 years, re HW if you keep running out of HW try changing to ON or 6am to 11pm, the installers did a bad thing by not changing the room sat, that's what saves fuel and your bill, very sad there are still installers who don't care about efficiency and saving money and doing the job correctly. In the video it's a Danfoss RET2000B I have one because it's brilliant. Changing from 230vAC to any digi is not that difficult, don't call them back find someone who has been on a wiring course. The old 230vAC wires should have L.N.E.and Com + SW.L digi stats only need Com + SW.L and can be volt free, 24vDC or 230vAC. It's important somethingto show it's the R Stat regards george staszak
