He legitimately had gotten better and better. not just different. He was the last to get sober around 09 and he just exploded after that

Great drumming. The moment when he threw a drum stick up and catched it... That looked like he was born a drummer staight out of the mother's womb.

Chad Smith is my favourite drummer. His kits are blast. Can't believe his age is mid 60 years old. His energy is the same like 30 years old. John Fruscinate is incredible guitarist the solo of Dani California is awesome.

I personally wish he would play something alittle closer to the studio version. I get he likes to spice it up but did that really sound better?

@@SilkandScrooge yes, it's improvisation, really pouring oneself into it in stead of being a glorified studio track

@@lofo7703 it’s such a tasteful solo tho. Same with like Scar Tissue. I vibe hard af to all three little solos in that one. A song like can’t stop has such a simple solo that it’d be cool to improvise instead.

I don’t know how to describe it exactly, but John’s playing IS California.
I think what makes these guys so much deeper than your average viewer sees is people think of Anthony and flea when they think peppers, but when you dig deeper you discover a POWERFUL Trio + a talented lyricist. Chili peppers songs are like good movies, they show, instead of telling you. 100% read between the lines. Tony gets dismissed a ridiculous amount, he writes savage poetry.

Let's be honest: Anthony's voice isn't what it used to be, and several of his most previous performances show it. That being said, HOLY CRAP! He was on in this one, what a great rendition!! And of course the other 3 carried the sound as per usual :) Awesome vid
