Thank you, thank you! I have been waiting to hear your reaction to this song from Geoff! I, frankly never cared for this song...until Geoff did this! Now you absolutely need to react to Geoff's cover of Elvis Presley's Way Down! You will see a whole new side of Geoff that hasn't been seen that I know of! He has so much fun with it and it is simply a joy to watch! He will make you laugh! And there are a couple of surprises at the end!

I’m subscribed and always look forward to your take on Geoff (and VoicePlay’s) videos. AND - your wish is granted! Check out Geoff’s take on Way Down, originally by Elvis. He has so much fun with it. And one note: stop and discuss the last note (you can’t NOT do it) but then keep playing for the outro. Geoff’s humor at his best!

I tried to explain to my son that he sang this in a bluesy/reverb/remix that somehow worked. I ended up telling him that it was just Geoff and to watch it because it worked. He's got such a feel for what will make a song hit us in the feels. This was by FAR the best cover of this, and IMHO better than the original.

I love how he makes this one just kind of... feel like he's essentially just come from a funeral. And yeah, he's got some great rock chops, too. He actually wanted to be a rock tenor at one point in his career. He did recently cover an Elvis song, which is... a pretty wild ride XD

It is surprising to me to see people reacting such a way as they do to singers like Geoff, because there are very few male singers like us that have that kind of range. And us singers that have such a range need to give a shout out to our mother's, for this wouldn't be possible if it wasn't for the way we were formed in our mother's womb. Thanks Mom! 😊

So glad to see you react to this! It's visually and aurally stunning. I like this arrangement best. The original is good but has always struck me as too up-tempo for the lyrics, especially knowing that Withers was inspired to write it after watching Days of Wine & Roses, about two alcoholics in a dysfunctional marriage. When she's gone, it's often because she's on a bender. Among his many talents, Geoff excels at telling the story of the song. You just wanna hug this guy and assure him she'll be back soon. Hope you react to Way Down soon! Emotionally it's the polar opposite of Sunshine. We get to see a side of Geoff we don't usually see *cough* and he continues to expand his cinematography/directing/acting skills. Layne is on the steadi-cam, Eli did the lights, and Kathy is off-camera throwing stuff to him/at him. He covers Elvis and legendary bass JD Sumner in the same song. Patreon ladies (and a few gents) were giggling and fanning themselves for days. You'll want to discuss the very last note, and by all means do -- he said it took him 80 takes to get it right -- just keep watching until the Patron list scrolls.

I actually prefer to listen to Geoff / VP with my main sound system on my desktop; headphones don't do as good a job with the bass. My room is acoustically good, and my PC's sound system has a halfway decent subwoofer. Nothing expensive compared to the cost of a computer, but it's markedly better than the janky $5 speaker sets most people use. I'm able to feel sounds that are below human hearing range (e.g., thunder, jet engines) if they're turned up loud enough. I normally don't turn it up that loud, because it annoys people elsewhere in the house, but the fact that the subwoofer can do that, is proof that it can handle low-pitched sounds. It doesn't have any trouble with Geoff's voice.

Hello Danielle, I love your reactions on voice play and especially on the amazing voice of Geoff Castellucci. But he is not the only one with such an incredible vocal range. In Germany we had Ivan Rebroff (real name: Hans Rippert) who was mainly known for his russian folk songs. He was in the giunness book of records as the man with the largest vocal range in the world. I'm not a fan of his music but the german song "Im tiefen Keller" is absolutely amazing. At the end you can hear an example of his range, where he goes from very high to "Castellucci"-low. Here is the link of the studio recorded version: kzitem.info/news/bejne/z4Fqx36rfquLeYo And here is a link where he performs the same song life in a german wine cellar: kzitem.info/news/bejne/u4SMtIunfV9ohI4 Greetings from Germany, Klaus

Idk, over the time hitting notes, low or high has becomn so whatever to me. I think hitting the notes with subs or chest-fry most male singers should be able to hit that notes, the thing just... you won't have the control. You'll hit it and that was it. Same is for high notes, except when you start goin to the 7th or 8th octave, it ain't really impressive, what is impressive if you go to the like 6th octave and are pretty free to play around with your voice. Just hitting it, I myself nearly hit the high C and I am a non trained baritone.... the thing is... it sounds like shit xD
