Such a cool video. Joseph’s spot on the way you let Danny talk wo interruption. Well done! Your dive into his tricks reveal his absolutely inspirational perseverance, like his 400 attempts over two days to ride the wire. No wonder he’s a legend. The fact that he, too, has to overcome his fears and brain’s natural objections really humanizes him.

The tennis net is the mind-blower. But then to learn that it's even harder than you think with the net sliding around underneath makes it just completely unreal! Kudos again to Mr. MacAskill for this truly incredible feat. What a master. PS I've been meaning to get back to the City with the wife to finish up our "Day out in SF" on the tandem together. Looks like we now have to add a "Tour of Danny's Tricks in SF" to our plans! Heck, this could be a regular SF by bike tourist outing!

It's amazing that he sets the bar so high for his tricks. 400 attempts to get the tennis net for example. Somehow even at that crazy ratio he knows it's not only possible but likely they'll get the take in a day or two. And that's after an entire winter of attempts in Scotland with only one success. It gives me a whole new appreciation of what I'm watching when one of Danny's videos drops.
@SuperRiderTV
Жыл бұрын
I couldn’t agree more with this! And I think back to however many videos he’s already put out - and the tens of thousands of tries in total that must’ve gone down. It’s truly staggering to think about! So much respect for his work ethic and absolute belief in himself!
@mrsmith4662
Жыл бұрын
It's great to hear Danny talk about each of the tricks. When't's all edited together, absolutely effortless and seamless, but the honesty of 80+ attempts tells the true story, and that's from the best in the world.

Awesome video Aaron!! There isn’t always that much media on Danny that isn’t super edited, so it was great to see this personal interview! I just wish more clips of Danny’s attempts at the lines were released in the Red Bull TV bts episodes 😅 A bit surprised he didn’t get the up to rail off the bridge, considering how picky he is with not wanting to start on top of obstacles. Also it was funny how they downplayed his original idea for the bridge rail in the Red Bull TV edit 😂 For the tennis net ride, I would’ve just glued the net to the wire - no one would’ve known! But that just goes to show Danny’s work ethic!
@SuperRiderTV
Жыл бұрын
Thanks! There was a clip that I didn't use on the bridge spot where he expressed his disappointment with using the shot where he started on the rail...but after standing at the top and looking at the super short (and blind) run-up, I don't blame him for taking a safer approach to it. Maybe a good thing that he left a few things undone - maybe he'll be back for a round two at some point! :)
@nathaniel__moore
Жыл бұрын
@@SuperRiderTV Yeah I certainly don’t blame him! I do wonder what will happen as he gets into his forties in terms of risk management.. they touched on that briefly in the Red Bull BTS
@SuperRiderTV
Жыл бұрын
@@nathaniel__moore It's definitely interesting - I definitely view risk a bit different at 42 than I did when I was 24...but also the muscle memory and wisdom helps balance it out. I feel like I'm riding "smarter" now, if that makes sense.

Great job Aaron! When the Postcards came out I was curious to see if Danny would ride any of the classic lines from Hans Ray's or the CR Films videos, but of course Danny found entirely new and extraordinary lines. The China Banks line was awesome too, given it's one of the iconic skate spots in the entire world, and Danny found a new twist on it. That SF State line gets gnarlier the more often you watch it. Holy smokes.
