I could just write something like "Defendant refused to have a psych eval" for that portion of the PSI. He could still be "cooperative" with the other sections pf the PSI. Also as a female Correctional Officer in a high-security facility, I was around many offendenders who raped, kidnapped and murdered woman. As long as the facility is run well, it's fine. I never saw female officers treated differently than male officers. But every state is different.

You'd think though that the horror of being in prison would stop people from committing crimes. But I guess that's what separates sociopaths and psychopaths from the rest of us. Most average people have a sense of what's right and wrong and a fear punishment. True criminals don't.

I've heard Tommy mention a couple of times that he believes Masterson is likely to begin to serve his time in a level 4 state prison. Perhaps the inmate classification system in California has changed since Tommy served time, but based on what I've looked up, I'm about 99% sure Masterson will start at a level 3 facility (still maximum security). The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) has an inmate Classification Score Sheet to provide a more objective scoring system for inmates to determine their security level. This sheet give points for the following categories: 1. Age at time of first arrest - 0 points for Masterson, as he was over 35 years of age when first arrested. Younger inmates get more points depending upon their age. I suppose the assumption here is that younger individuals have a greater propensity to violence. 2. Age at time of reception - 0 points, same as above. 3. Term (in years) x 2 (50 MAX) - 50 points for Masterson. Assuming he will receive 30 years minimum, or (hopefully) more, that would be 60+ points, but 50 points is the max for this category. 4. Gang affiliation - 0 points, since he's not in a gang. 5. Mental Illness - 0 points, unless he is trying to game the system in order to be able to receive psychiatric medication, which seems doubtful. 6. Prior juvenile sentence of 31+ days - 0 points, since I don't think Masterson has ever served time. 7. Prior incarcerations - 0 points, same as above. 8. Total points - 50 points total. The CDCR places inmates into the following facilities based on their points: 1. Level 1 (minimum security) - 0-18 points. However, as a sex offender, Masterson will NEVER be eligible to serve time in minimum security. 2. Level 2 (medium security) - 19-35 points. Once Masterson's remaining time has dropped to 17.5 years (17.5 years x 2 = 35), or if he reduces his points through good behavior/program incentives, then he MIGHT be eligible for this. If sentenced to a "life" sentence, as assumed, I'm not sure if that's taken into account here or not. 3. Level 3 (maximum security with external armed coverage) - 36-59 points. Masterson, with 50 points, will likely land here to begin his term. 4. Level 4 (maximum security with both internal and external armed coverage) - 60+ points. Unless Masterson causes trouble, joins a gang, etc., I don't think he'll ever reach 60 points, which would place him in a level 4 facility. Also, as Tommy said, I can confirm that Masterson will NEVER be eligible for family visits (colloquially known as "conjugal visits"), where inmates are allowed to stay with their immediate family for 30-40 hours in an apartment-like facility in the prison complex, due to the fact that he's a sex offender. SO's are not eligible for family visits. I tried commenting earlier with three links to the CDCR's classification score sheet, CDCR link that shows security level based on points, and family visit information on the CDCR website, but I think KZitem doesn't allow external links. Hopefully this comment won't get nuked. Just wanted to point out what I've found while looking into what Masterson can expect, barring any further changes to California's inmate classification system. I've never served time and I've only been to California for 4 days, but I'm getting this information from the CDCR websites. I think California is recently trying to let more inmates move into lower security facilities, so I would imagine this has changed since Tommy's time in the system. Hopefully this can shed some light on what kind of prison in which Masterson will have to serve time once he's processed into the CDCR system.

Tommy did time in Federal prison in California and keeps trying to equate Federal to State prison because it's California. He has some things right, but most is incorrect. I'm in CDCR. Danny is going to a Level III SNY yard. He's not violent enough for Level IV. My prison is level III and we have a number of "celebrities" (by nature of previous employment or notoriety of their crime) and they are no freaking big deal.

Thank you for posting this. I basically sent someone to prison for 17 years a few months ago who did the same thing Danny did to me and several other women. @danaeads919

@@hugs_nicolle7263 I wish I could hug you Nicolle for your strength and survival. SNY will not be a piece of cake and if Danny can't afford to pay for protection, "prison politics" will take their "pound of flesh." He won't make payments to just one person. He will have to pay every single inmate who feels they have the ability to "put him in his place" if he doesn't pay. Payment can be money placed on their trust account, Danny using his own trust account to buy snacks at the canteen and give them away, or inmates giving him shopping lists and his family ordering quarterly packages and special purchases or demanding books of stamps. A book of stamps costs $13.20 and, obviously, can be used for postage or...the book can be returned to the post office for 100% cash reimbursement. Every three months, an inmate can receive one QP from an approved vendor. The box must weigh less than 30 pounds and can include clothes, toiletries, small appliances, snacks and so on. Special purchases can be received monthly and consist of hobby craft items and religious items. An inmate can receive all the non-adult magazines and newspapers they could possibly want. They can receive books from Amazon or any vendor but are limited to possession of a maximum of ten at a time. There are companies that specialize in taking boudoir-style photos of women and selling those photos to inmates and those collections can be used as a money substitute. Danny's family will have to make a hard decision and determine whether they are going to financially support him and his new associates or if they're going to let him figure out how to fight back. Undoubtedly, he still has fans who will write him, ask to be approved to visit him and, if he's smart, he'll learn how to drain them dry of their savings in order to save himself. Just because all the sexual abusers, child abusers and such are housed together, they don't necessarily form a friendly fraternity. The SNY yards also house homosexuals, transgender, inmates who have dropped out of gangs and those who have never been in a gang. Inmates prey on other inmates if the opportunity is there. In the CDCR system, inmates are single-celled only if they are at high risk to receive abuse or high risk to deliver abuse. Fortunately or unfortunately, something has to happen before someone is classified as a victim or a perpetrator. Danny will initially be assigned a cellmate. Neither one has a say in the matter. If he's fortunate, he'll be assigned someone who has a shot at parole/release and will leave him alone so they don't mess up their chance to get out. Worst case...someone with a life sentence without a possibility of parole who DGAF.

I work at a prison in California. The cells are narrow, dark and the bunk bed is made of steel. (Get sent to short term restricted housing, "the hole" and youre sleeping on a cement bunk. Ironically, STRH cells are larger with much better lighting. ) Inmates are given a vinyl covered futon (the cheap kind you'd buy at Walmart) to sleep on with two flat sheets and two wool blankets. That's it. No pillow. No comforter. No extra blankets. Cold? Wear all your clothes. Bad back? You need a doctor's note to get a 1" egg crate mattress topper. You will sit on metal stools or metal benches. Unless you get an admin job, have a visitor, attend chapel or classes, you will never again sit in a chair that has a back. I would not feed a stray dog on the plastic trays that are used for inmate meals. Sack lunches are either peanut butter and jelly or bologna sandwiches. Your only hot meals are breakfast and dinner. Showers occur twice a week for five minutes. You shower in a cage with your cellmate and while the important areas are covered by panels, the officers can still watch you. The shower is in the dayroom so inmates can watch you as well. You receive one small bar of soap each month. Dollar store quality razors are issued weekly on a one for one basis. Toothbrushes are not much longer than your thumb. Toothpaste is not issued, but you can receive an envelope that tooth powder has been scooped into. No, it's not individually packaged at a factory somewhere. It's a big box of powder and a stack of those small coin envelopes. You will be issued ONE roll of toilet paper per week. Tummy troubles? Figure out how to get access to a water bottle thrown in the trash by a staff member and create a bidet. Your cellmate will watch you on the toilet. The inmate restroom in the admin building used during classes/chapel has glass walls. Anyone in the hallway can watch you on the toilet. On the yard...the toilet is in full view of everyone. There are no trees or shade on the yard. Shade created by the housing units is only for the comfort of the officers. Try not to break the law. Prison isn't worth it.

The inmates themselves don't even make it a safe place where a person can rehabilitate themselves! It seems to be impossible to survive prison without forming unhealthy bonds with people or groups where everything is transactional. I was honestly kind of surprised by Tommy saying sexual assault isn't that common. I am thinking I was seriously misunderstanding what he was saying at that point, because that is not the impression I get from other sources. There are a bunch of ex-cons on KZitem with channels talking about life in prison, and sexual assault seems to be something that they talk about constantly. And the way they talk about stuff in prison always sounds as if they are more on the side of glorifying things than condemning them. If inmates wanted that to be a safe space where they could rehabilitate, they could easily make it so by not acting like predators to each other all of the time. It's not like people are forcing them to behave the way they do. And I have a hard time believing the idea I often hear about "sexual predators are not viewed well in prison." Maybe sexual predators of CHILDREN are not viewed well, but if you have prison rape taking place AT ALL, that means sexual predation IS NOT viewed poorly in prison. If it were, there would be absolutely no sexual predation in prison, because the inmates would make it very clear that it wouldn't be tolerated. Where is the evidence that this is the case?

Life is very different when you’re seemingly abandoned by your community and completely on your own. Wonder how Tom would do? Perhaps this is an opportunity to demonstrate what he is made of? Will he still espouse the values of Scientology from his cell? I’m curious if he will share the Scientology hope and continue to help people with the life/ earth savings by message. Sadly, he will wither and be forgotten by most…. As an ex con I can promise you if you want to truly help anyone in that dark place you have to bring the Light of Jesus Christ to them. There’s only One Way to the Father God and heaven and that is through His Son. I’ve watched Muslims, Buddhists, Wiccans, Native American Shaman, odinists , Orthodox Jews under Jewish law, Catholics, Mormons, and satanists. None had any peace or joy and from what was coming out of their mouths in conversation there was no change in their hearts. Only receiving and believing( believing is receiving) that Jesus Christ is the Only One who died for my sins and was put in a tomb and was risen from the dead. They will need to repent of their sins and be filled with the Holy Spirit of God. And there will be an immediate change in that person. Guaranteed , I’ve experienced this gift for myself and have saw Gods Son , Jesus Christ, glorified in others lives. He’s our only hope. Since you said you were going to be working in Tennessee I assume you’re from there. My mom and her side of my family are all from there. So I would imagine you either are a Christian or have a lot of family members who are. I’m not against psychologists when what they’re telling people are lining up with what the Holy Scriptures are teaching. Putting someone on meds is putting a bandaid on a bullet hole. I needed the bullet out of me not just a temporary fix until I’m someone else’s problem. I believe everyone starts out with the best of intention, well most anyway just like most cops do. But in a job like that you’re gonna have to have extra thick skin. Cause in order to reach them they’re gonna have to be able to see you as their own sister. What do I mean by that. You’re gonna be a female in a male prison so naturally they are gonna try their hardest to flirt with you. You have to shut that down immediately but not in a way where the inmate/ convict leaves thinking what a bitc$ . You have to win his respect even though you shut his flirting down. I’ve had a counselor that stood out above all others because she was not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ and she explained to the rest of us in a treatment group how Jesus Christ was the One who delivered her from her addiction to drinking alcohol. Very encouraging. So be that Light to those guys. Some of them don’t have anyone left who cares for them but the very real Jesus Christ of Nazareth cares for them and wants them in His Kingdom .

Being incarcerated is punishment enough for any crime. Anything beyond that is cruel and unusual. There is no reason for beatings and harassment to be tolerated in prisons. Also, Haldol should be outlawed. People don’t realize how harmful that drug actually is. Prison cells should be safe and sanitary. We have no business thinking of America as a civilized country when things like this go on in prisons.

Depending on the age of the facility, or if the facility has been updated, the infirmary generally will have a few cells with showers. These are used for inmates with various different infectious diseases or people with large wounds that would be at exceptional risk of getting an infection in GP. As far as books for people on watch, the concern is they can choke themselves with the pages. Soak them in water or soak them in your mouth and someone could make a ball of paper they could choke on. A motivated person with noting but time to think can get pretty creative. I had one guy open up his abdominal wall with an orange juice container. He folded it up and stuck it in the door jam of a sliding door. Every time that door closed, it compressed the paper container. It got hard enough to where he could cut through his skin and abdominal muscles.

The irony of what he did to multiple women he doesn’t want to happen to him? Well maybe he shouldn’t be guilty of being a serial rapist. He may as well get used to his “behind” being wanted by multiple cell mates. He was the giver so now we’ll see how well he does being the taker. I’m not sorry. He’s a monster as most Hollywood celebrities are. I wonder how big of a deal being the one to get “behind” him in prison will be? I would imagine the prisoners will want bragging rights to who gets to be his special friend first. I wonder if he’ll buy himself protection in prison? Does that work? Will he get himself thrown in solitary confinement as much as he can? Can he buy guards to guard him? Is buying guards a crime? He’ll have to pick a group to be loyal to won’t he? Those prisoners in California have gang members from other countries that make gang members in California look like choir boys. I’d be scared crazy too! He reaped what he sowed and he’s not above the law after all. I’ll say a prayer for him that he finds his place among criminals and adapts to his new life quickly. That’s best I can do.

Tommy is correct. He is most likely a high security risk/high profile! They need to look out for themselves. The jail. If they have an incident , they have to act as best possible because it will put them on national news! So he will be in a different environment once he gets to a prison. But he will still be high security no matter where he goes.
