Dark Passage was on TCM today. Had to look it up again on KZitem. I can imagine Bogie waiting for his Baby at a table just like this one in heaven. No, that wasn't acting, just two people so in love and crazy about each other. Watching them is a thing of beauty.

Knowing they were a couple in real life - and it shows, doesn't it? - adds wonderful emotion to this scene. This is especially true because throughout the entire film, Bogey's been unjustly accused and has suffered for it. Now, in the finale, he's beyond all that and he and Lauren are reunited. Although it doesn't appear here in this clip, as I recall, the couple in the bus to Arizona who sit down in front of him ("Aunt Mary" and the guy) have just met in the bus terminal. She's very lonely and this nice man starts to chat with her. It's implied that they too are going to be happy together, just as Bogey and Lauren are in the final shot.
