We were going to Rodonit peninsula, to explore old ruins of the castle. On the way we've notice how Albanian highway looks like. At the beginning of this episode you can see that there are fruit stalls at the road line. Also there was no fence like in others countries highways. We can add speed limit, lot of police control and traffic circles on the highway.
We were also surprised how cars turns left like there would be four lanes, but there was only one (0:36). We noticed police stops the overspeed car just in front of us. Then we drove to rural area where we hit very poor road conditions. Now we knew that Albanian roads are wild.
Finally we arrived to peninsula, where we need to pay small price at the gate for entering inside.
Path to castle was amazingly beautiful. Cliffs were stunning. But our happines was not so long when we saw tons of garbage left on the stony beach. Noone is taking care about this place. That's sad.
At the evening we arrived to Durres, and have some time to swim in the sea. There was only crowded hotels beaches, but we swam as a guests.
Beside that our overall impressions were positive. The difference of this country does not mean that it is ugly. For us it was a contact with something that we have not experienced in any of the European countries so far.
